DTCL: Mastering the Yone comp for Season 10
The Yone reroll strategy has been gaining popularity recently, replacing Katarina reroll, although the principle still revolves around hitting 6 Duelists, but Yone's unit quality is much stronger than Katarina's.Despite being a powerful strategy comparable to Tier-S units, Yone requires quite a few conditions to compete for the top spot, so it remains a relatively situational strategy that doesn't always work.

Strengths of the Yone reroll
Yone's abilities stack lifesteal during combat, so combined with the additional damage from Duelists, Yone becomes nearly unkillable even when facing healing reduction effects. This strategy can lead to Pentakills and Reckoners, making its frontline tankier than Katarina's.
The core items for Yone include Bloodthirster + Infinity Edge, with the option to choose between Hand of Justice or Guardian Angel or Quicksilver if there's a lot of crowd control in the lobby. Note that Yone doesn't need Blade of the Ruined King as he relies on his abilities for damage, and you already have enough attack speed from Reckoner. Prioritize stacking Guardian Angels for champions like Zed or Qiyana and give tank items to Mordekaiser.
This strategy's most noticeable weakness is the requirement for a 3-star Yone to hit Duelists. This can sometimes be challenging as he's a 3-cost unit, while Heartsteel and Reckoner are two crucial items.
Recommended carousel priority items: Rapid Firecannon, Jeweled Gauntlet, Gargoyle Stoneplate, Infinity Edge, Zeke's Herald, Last Whisper, Quicksilver, Titan's Resolve, Runaan's Hurricane...
Gameplay and leveling
You shouldn't force the Yone strategy from the beginning but rather wait for items, observe if the initial core aligns well with your strategy, and how others in the lobby are building before committing. If conditions permit, avoid leveling up to maintain losing streaks as you'll need more gold to reach level 7 early and roll aggressively for a 3-star Yone.
You can lose streak with Heartsteel; alternatively, if you want to preserve health, play Yasuo (if he reaches 2-star) and focus on True Damage. Yasuo can hold Yone's items and with his execution passive, he can maintain health fairly well during losing streaks. Prioritize picking up high-gold-value components from the carousel, starting with a Bloodthirster followed by a defensive item.
With this approach, you might even lose streak until above +7 to hit level 7 at 3-4 or 3-5 with plenty of gold left. From this point, roll until you hit a 3-star Yone (must be Duelists), or at least a 2-star Yone. The goal is to deny others from playing Yone if someone else intends to. The more Yones you find early and the sooner you get them to 3-stars, the lower the chance of competition, as delaying may result in contested picks.
You'll need to roll for a 3-star Yone, then level up to 8, completing your composition with Qiyana to activate 6 Duelists. Remember to pick up Qiyana from the carousel and give her a survivability item like Guardian Angel or Bloodthirster for item flex. Zed will be your secondary carry. After acquiring Yone, your team will have a significant power spike compared to other players running 4-cost champions at level 8. Economy to level 9 by round 6-2 or 6-3, or if not, consider rolling for a 3-star Zed as hardly anyone is likely to play him at the moment.
Formation positioning is crucial. Always position Yone opposite to the enemy carry, then position other Duelists like Evelyn or Katarina to die quickly to disrupt the backline. This strategy thrives in extended fights, dealing massive damage over time, and eventually, Yone will have the strength to 1v9 once the rest of your team is down. Constantly adjust positioning and consider moving Yone to a corner to avoid being targeted if necessary.
The Yone strategy is currently very popular and strong in this meta, so seize the opportunity to play it and gain points.
