Dying Light 2 receives remarkably low user ratings on Metacritic.
After an extensive 7-year wait, gamers worldwide have finally immersed themselves in the sequel to the post-apocalyptic zombie survival blockbuster, Dying Light 2, released on February 4th on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. As anticipated, the blockbuster swiftly captured the gaming community's attention, reaching a peak of over 245,000 concurrent players on Steam, a number that continues to climb by the hour during weekends, according to SteamDB statistics.

Despite the player base and positive reception within the gaming community, Dying Light 2 Stay Human is facing a backlash on the renowned Metacritic review platform, primarily fueled by disgruntled gamers from a specific European country.
As highlighted on Reddit, Dying Light 2 is garnering numerous negative reviews from gamers on the well-known Metacritic platform, mainly from those in Italy. Some gamers express feeling offended by Dying Light 2's omission of Italian voiceovers. Italy is not the only country lacking full Italian voiceovers in Dying Light 2, given the limitations in supporting numerous languages in a game. Nevertheless, many Italian gamers have bombarded Dying Light 2 on Metacritic in protest.

'The absence of the Italian language while including other languages in the game is a severe offense to Italian culture and people,' writes an irate review. 'Dying Light 2 only has Italian subtitles, but they are riddled with errors and terrible,' notes another gamer. 'They fail to show respect for Italy and the Italians. There's no way we, as Italians, will show respect to them,' they declare.
Moreover, some gamers seem oblivious to Techland's Polish origin and criticize the studio for incorporating the Polish language into the game while neglecting Italian. Others humorously demand the removal of the Polish language. As one player wrote: 'I genuinely don't understand how they can insert Polish dialogues but forget to include Italian ones. Let's conduct a survey and ask people worldwide if Poland is more well-known than Italy,' a gamer remarked.

These negative reviews have significantly impacted Dying Light 2, resulting in a User Score of only 4.3 for the Xbox One version on Metacritic, 5.9 for PC, and 6.1 for the PS5 version. Beyond the disappointment regarding the absence of Italian voiceovers, raised issues include dissatisfaction with Denuvo on PC, complaints about the game's poor optimization, and occasional glitches.
In contrast, Dying Light 2 is currently receiving a Very Positive rating from users on Steam, with the overall score steadily increasing since its release. Developers have outlined all the bug fixes you'll receive throughout this week, addressing issues related to connectivity, co-op, infinite black screens, story blocks, and other nuisances.
