For the past 11 years, Hasan Riza Gunay has been ready to be a punching bag so others can vent their frustrations without any regrets or retaliation! In fact, he has made quite a fortune from this venture.
Hasan Riza Gunay started his human punching bag profession in 2010, inspired by a classic Turkish film directed by Kemal Sunal Sark Bulbulu (Eastern Nightingale), where the main character willingly allows himself to be beaten.
He realized that while some find stress relief through exercise, meditation, or sleep, others need to let off steam by shouting or fighting.
Therefore, Hasan Riza Gunay decided to become a mobile punching bag and agreed to let people pummel him without resistance. Of course, they had to pay a hefty sum for the privilege of punching and kicking him.
Typically, Gunay wears a mask featuring a printed photo of the person the customer is upset with, encouraging them to hurl insults and unload all their anger onto him.
Gunay told the Turkish news agency Anadolu: 'Most of my clients suffer from depression or anxiety due to their daily jobs.'
Occasionally, there are mishaps, but Hasan Riza Gunay reminds himself never to retaliate. He always sees his stress-relieving sessions as scenes from a movie, with him being the protagonist getting punched.
So, Gunay's work ethic is to never take offense when being punched or subjected to humiliating remarks by clients.
