1. Rooting Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6

Step 1: Before rooting, you need to download the root file APK directly onto your device.

Step 2: Enable the Unknown sources option on your device.
Skipping this step will result in a failed root process. Go to Settings - Security =>Security - Bảo mật => tick Unknown Sources > select OK.
Step 3: After downloading and installing the APK file, launch the application. Tap
Attention:
- During the rooting process, you need to turn off Wifi. When the screen displays Hacking..., wait for a moment for the rooting application to work. After that, the Asus logo will appear. At this point, press the power button to restart the device, and you're done.
- Before proceeding, some devices require disabling ASUS Zenfone Demo mode. If, unfortunately, you enable demo mode, when running the rooting file, your device might activate demo mode by itself, resulting in a root failure (error).
How to disable Asus Zenfone Demo mode:
- Step 1: Plug in the charger, press the power button to enter ASUS Zenfone Demo mode
- Step 2: Tap to access the main page of the demo mode
- Step 3: Press and hold the Back button for about 10 seconds to display the Factory Reset screen
- Step 4: Enter the code 741603 for Factory Reset
- Step 5: Wait for the Factory Reset to complete, then restart the device
That's it! You have successfully rooted Zenfone 5 and 6. To check if your device has been rooted, reopen the application. If you see the notification Already Rooted!, it means rooting was successful.
2. Rooting Zenfone 4
Step 1: Download and install USB Driver for Zenfone here. Download rooting tool for Zenfone 4 here.
Step 2: Activate USB Debugging mode on your device by going to Settings => Developer options => Check USB debugging. Refer to how to enable USB Debugging here. Also, enable Unknown Sources as instructed above.
Step 3: Power Off + Remove Battery and then reinsert > Press and hold Power + Volume Up to enter Fast boot mode (release when the Android Robot appears)
Step 4: Connect the device to the computer, extract the downloaded rooting tool. Run the CMD file, a prompt will appear for executing device rooting commands.
- Execute the command fastboot device > press Enter
- Next, enter the command fastboot erase cache to clear old data on the device (this step helps speed up the rooting process and prevents errors)
- Next, input fastboot erase userdata and press Enter > the device will respond with Okay and Finished. If you want to restore factory settings and erase all data before rooting, you can perform this step, otherwise you can skip it.
- Now comes the most crucial step to complete the ROOT process: Enter the command fastboot flash update root432.zip > press Enter > the device will respond as shown in the image, indicating success. After this command, your Zenfone 4 will restart. Initially, you will see a green robot icon. If you perform the factory reset as mentioned above, the startup process will take longer than usual, so please be patient.
- To verify if you have truly succeeded > go to Google Play Store > download SuperSU > if the software prompts as shown in the image below, it means you have successfully rooted your device.
