With this barbecue pork bun recipe, you can create flavorful buns perfect for breakfast, afternoon snacks, or even a late-night work fuel.

Ingredients for 10 buns:
- Bun dough:
+ Active dry yeast: 4g
+ Warm water: 200ml
+ All-purpose flour: 400g
+ Granulated sugar: 5g
- Filling:
+ Onion: 1 bulb
+ Pork belly: 500g
+ Carrot: 1/2 bulb
- Seasonings:
+ Salt: 1 teaspoon
+ Sugar: 1 teaspoon
+ Oyster sauce: 1 tablespoon
+ Char siu sauce: 2 tablespoons
+ Soy sauce: 1 teaspoon
How to make barbecue pork buns:
Step 1:

- Peel and finely chop the onion.
- Peel the carrot, wash thoroughly, and finely chop.
Step 2:

- Finely chop the pork belly (or use pre-ground pork) then add seasonings (2 tablespoons of char siu sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce) and mix well.
- To check if the filling is ready, take a small amount and microwave it until cooked, then taste test!
Step 3:

- Add the onion and carrot to the bowl with the meat and mix well.
Step 4:
- Dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 10 minutes.

- Pour the flour into a bowl, make a well in the center, pour in the yeast water, knead until smooth and uniform - Then place the dough in a draft-free place, cover it, and let it rest for about 20 minutes.
Step 5:

- After the dough has rested, divide it into small portions, roll each portion thinly on the outside and slightly thicker in the center.

- Spoon the meat filling into the dough. Brush a little cold water around the edge of the dough to help it stick, then press and twist the dough to form a round bun, leaving a finger at the opening to create a mouth-shaped bun. If you prefer, you can also seal the bun completely!
- Place the buns in a steamer and let them proof for 15 minutes.
Step 6:

- Steam the buns for 20 minutes over medium heat, then turn off the heat.
- Let the buns sit in the pot for about 3 - 5 more minutes before serving.
