
1. Ingredients Needed

500g chicken thighs
0.5kg glutinous rice
Salt, cooking oil, fish sauce, black pepper, oyster sauce, turmeric powder, chili sauce, and more

2. Execution Steps
Wash glutinous rice to remove dirt, then drain. Extract juice from fresh turmeric, pour over glutinous rice, and mix evenly to color the rice. Let it soak for 20 minutes. If fresh turmeric is unavailable, use turmeric powder instead. Then, rinse the rice. After the rice has absorbed the turmeric, transfer it to a rice cooker, add a teaspoon of salt, pour in enough water, and cook until the rice is tender.
Clean chicken thighs, make incisions for better seasoning penetration. Marinate the chicken thighs with fish sauce, black pepper, five-spice powder, oyster sauce, and chili sauce for 30 minutes.

Place the marinated chicken thighs in the air fryer and set the temperature to 170°C for 15 minutes. Once the chicken and rice are cooked, spread a piece of food wrap on a clean surface, spoon some rice onto it, spread it thinly. Then, place a chicken thigh in the center of the rice. Wrap it tightly so the rice adheres to the chicken. Repeat the process with the remaining chicken thighs.

Place the marinated chicken thighs in the air fryer and set the temperature to 170°C for 15 minutes. Once the chicken and rice are cooked, spread a piece of food wrap on a clean surface, spoon some rice onto it, spread it thinly. Then, place a chicken thigh in the center of the rice. Wrap it tightly so the rice adheres to the chicken. Repeat the process with the remaining chicken thighs.

You place the chicken thighs wrapped in sticky rice in the air fryer, brush a thin layer of oil, and adjust to cook at 180°C for 15 minutes. Then, open, brush with more oil, and flip. Continue cooking at 200°C for 15 minutes.

Finally, you transfer the chicken thighs wrapped in sticky rice to a plate and enjoy!
3. Finished Product
The chicken thighs wrapped in sticky rice have a beautiful golden color. The rice is crispy, and the chicken is tender and fragrant. You can dip them in chili sauce according to your taste preference.
