A Simple Guide to Screen Capture with Paint
To capture your computer screen using Paint, follow these steps:
Step 1: Press Print Screen or Alt + Print Screen or SysRq on your keyboard -> this will save the full-screen image to the Clipboard. Then, paste it into Paint to display it as an image.
For older versions of Windows, navigate to the Start menu -> locate the Windows Accessories folder -> you'll find the Paint app there. The Paint interface will appear as shown below:
Step 3: Perform a Paste of the clipboard image into Paint -> press the shortcut Ctrl + V -> immediately, the captured image will appear in the Paint software.
Step 4: If you want to edit the image (e.g., crop a portion) -> you can use the mouse to move the image to select the desired part.
You can also resize the image by moving the mouse cursor to the corners or sides of the image (see the red box in the image below) -> then, press and hold the mouse and drag to neatly crop it.
Paint also offers you some other simple editing tools that you can use such as drawing (Brushes) and text writing (you can go to Tools -> then select the A icon).
Step 5: Once you have the desired image in Paint -> you can Save this image by pressing the shortcut Ctrl + S or alternatively you can go to File -> Save.
Next, choose the location to save the file and name the image file -> then press Save to save this image.
