With conditional access, organizations can restrict access to web apps connected to Azure Active Directory exclusively for employees through the Edge web browser, protected by Microsoft Intune. This means third-party web browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Safari cannot be used to access these apps, aimed at preventing business data leakage.
This support also extends to Office 365 solutions including Exchange Online and SharePoint Online, Office gateway, and on-premises web access.
To use this feature, users must first install Microsoft Authenticator on their iOS device or Intune Company Portal on Android devices.
Conditional access and app protection policies will vary depending on each individual app. The screenshot below depicts web browser access targeting policies:
Businesses can now selectively grant cloud resource access only from tailored and Intune-protected applications, setting app protection policies targeting Edge.
Furthermore, single sign-on support enables employees to log in to all web apps connected to Azure AD without having to enter credentials each time. The only requirement is for users to install the Microsoft Authenticator app on their iOS device or Intune Company Portal app on their Android device.
