EFF releases an update for rules in HTTPS Everywhere
While using secure HTTP enhances content security during web browsing, users may not always have access, especially when a website lacks HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) or other means to switch to HTTPS connections. In such cases, users can utilize the HTTPS Everywhere add-on. To update the deployed list, EFF recently issued an update to rules in HTTPS Everywhere.
In their announcement, EFF mentions separating rule updates from the HTTPS Everywhere extension. Instead, it will regularly check the new list and download the latest updates when detected.
Furthermore, to ensure integrity and security, rule update releases will be signed to prevent them from being sent from unclear sources. Third parties can build their own lists, then supplement them into custom add-on versions.
The latest version of HTTPS Everywhere, 2018.4.3, is now available. Visit here to download and install the new add-on to your device.
