1. Input text on Google Docs for Android faster
There are several ways and tips to input text on Google Docs for Android faster and more efficiently.
Firstly, on most Android devices, the Swipe to type feature is integrated, designed to help users type text faster. However, the only drawback is that this feature does not yet support Vietnamese.
In case for any reason or suppose you do not want to manually input text on the Google Docs app on your Android device. It's quite simple, just press the microphone icon button and start reading the text. Google will convert your speech into text and display it on the screen.
2. Access collaboration tools on Google Docs for Android
Suppose you need to collaborate on Google Docs while on the move, simply tap the three-dot icon aligned horizontally at the top right corner of the screen, select Share & Export.
From the menu displayed on the screen, you can choose one of the two options:
- Share : select this option to grant access rights to specific users. Additionally, to share access rights with multiple other users, you will need to perform a similar step with an extra step.
- Link sharing : tap on this option to generate a link that can be shared with any user. This option allows users to access quickly with less privacy.
3. Image search feature directly on Google Docs
Google Docs for Android and iOS comes with built-in tools that allow users to search for images directly within the app.
Step 1: Firstly, on the Google Docs app window, locate and tap on the plus icon located on the toolbar at the top right corner.
Step 2: Select Images => From web.
Now you can search for images on Google directly within the Google Docs app on your Android device.
Additionally, there are options available for you to search for images saved on Google Drive or directly on your device.
Select the image you want to use and then click Insert to add the image.
4. Activate Offline Editing Mode on Google Docs for Android
By activating offline editing mode on Google Docs, you can edit your documents anytime, anywhere without an Internet connection.
All you need to do is click on the three-dot icon aligned horizontally at the top right corner of the screen, scroll down to find and activate the slider next to the Available offline option.
While in offline mode, you can still create and edit new documents. However, don't forget to click the green checkmark at the top left corner to save changes before closing the app. All changes will synchronize when there is a network connection.
5. Markup and Comment on Google Docs for Android
To markup and add comments to documents on Google Docs for Android, follow these steps:
Step 1: First, select the text or line you want to add a comment to.
Step 2: Click on the plus icon at the top right corner of the screen, select Comment.
Step 3: Enter the comment you want to add, all changes will be saved to the cloud service.
Or:
- Press and hold your finger on the screen then drag to select a line of text.
- Press the Highlight button on the bottom toolbar and choose any color to highlight.
