Last week my child had a high fever of 39 degrees. I tried this method shared by a mom online and it worked brilliantly. Moms, remember to save this for future use!

My child had been having recurring fevers for a few days. Initially, I suspected dengue fever and took him for tests, but it wasn't the case. Thankfully. The doctor prescribed fever-reducing medication and advised further observation.
Despite medication, my child's fever would temporarily subside and then return. I was concerned about overusing antibiotics, so I sought advice from experienced moms on web forums. I stumbled upon a post sharing a fever-reducing method for children. I tried it, and to my surprise, it worked instantly and the fever didn't recur.
Here's a simple method that's also safe for your child's health. I'm sharing it here for moms with little ones who have fevers but are hesitant to use antibiotics. According to one mom, this remedy is traditional and she often uses it for her child.

According to her, peel 2-3 shallots, crush them finely, add a little cooking oil, and apply it to your child's body, focusing on the armpits and groin.
Additionally, there are two other remedies that are also very effective and easy to make. I've seen many moms confirm that they've tried these for their children with positive results. I've saved them here for convenience, so moms can easily access them.

Important Considerations When Your Child Has a Fever
- Only apply home remedies when a child's fever is below 39 degrees Celsius. If the fever is higher, it's urgent to consult a doctor. High fever could be a symptom of serious illnesses such as dengue fever, pneumonia, meningitis, etc.
- Make sure to remove some of the child's clothing, keep them cool, encourage breastfeeding or drinking plenty of fluids. Note: Avoid placing cold compresses on the forehead as they have little effect on reducing fever. Avoid chest compresses as they increase the risk of pneumonia. Moms, place 2 cloths under the armpits, 2 cloths under the groin, and use 1 cloth to wipe the entire body.
- Absolutely avoid using ice-cold water for cooling down a child's fever. Instead, give them small sips of lemon water.
- Avoid forcing the child to eat too much as usual. Offer them liquid foods and split meals into smaller portions.
