Smartphones in general, and iPhone and iPad in particular, are extremely useful tools in daily work. Especially if you often have to check emails, the Mail app on Apple's iOS operating system is truly ideal for your work.
In our previous article, we guided users on how to add an Email on iPhone. Here, Mytour.vn moves on to guide users on some ways to use mail quickly and effectively on iOS.
1. Use gestures to navigate Mail, such as swiping right to mark emails as read
The Mail app on iPhone has some very convenient shortcuts, but not everyone knows this. Users can mark emails as read without opening them by tapping on the email and swiping to the right. At this point, the Mail app will display a blue square box with the text Marked as Read.
2. Swiping left reveals additional options like Flag and Archive
If you want more management options for an email without marking it as read, swipe the email to the left. Some options will appear, such as Flag or Archive the email.
3. Swiping all the way to the left automatically archives the email
When you need to archive an email, instead of performing multiple steps, simply swipe the email all the way to the left. The app will automatically archive the email, and later, you can access it in the Archive folder.
4. Minimize the email composition window and save it for later
When composing an email, simply tap on the subject line area and drag it down to the bottom of the screen to minimize the email beneath the mailbox. Users can then open it up for further drafting whenever they want. This trick makes composing more convenient by allowing easy movement between the mailbox and the email being composed.
5. Tap on the 'More' button for additional management options
When swiping an email to the left, options like Flag, Archive, and even the “More” button appear. Choosing More provides additional options, such as marking an email as read or unread, replying to the email, moving it to trash, forwarding it, setting reminders to read and reply later, and more.
6. Use third-party keyboard apps for faster typing
Apple now allows users to install third-party keyboard apps on their iPhones, meaning users are no longer stuck with the default keyboard and can comfortably choose other keyboard apps that suit them better.
Among the plethora of keyboard apps, Swype is an app that can help users easily compose emails with one hand, especially for iPhone 6 Plus users where screen size is a challenge. With Swype, users can type by swiping from one letter to another on the keyboard, and the app will automatically piece together the words, instead of tapping each letter individually as usual.
7. Enable the 'Handoff' feature to start an email on iPhone and finish it right on your Mac
'Handoff' is a fantastic feature provided by Apple for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users. This feature bridges the gap between Apple devices, allowing users to seamlessly continue drafting emails on any device, even if it's left incomplete on the iPhone. To use this feature, users need a MacBook running OS X Yosemite.
8. Utilize Spotlight Search bar to facilitate quicker email searches
If you need to find an email without navigating through the Mail app, utilize the Spotlight Search bar available on iOS. Simply swipe down from the top of the screen, and iPhone will display this search bar. Users can type in the email subject, sender or recipient's name, or any other keyword to quickly locate the email.
9. Easily view emails instantly on the lock screen
To instantly view incoming emails without opening the Mail app, users can customize their device's notification display settings.
To set up this feature, go to Settings - Notifications - Mail. From here, users can choose how email notifications appear on the lock screen.

Finally, ensure that the 'show on lock screen' option is enabled. Additionally, catering to diverse user needs—some may desire email signatures, others may wish to alter font styles to personalize their device and create a more professional email demeanor. To facilitate this, creating message signatures on iPhone as well as within emails allows users to directly manipulate them through the 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' settings on their device.
