Guide on assigning tasks to students using Zalo
To prevent message loss after a few days when assigning tasks on Zalo, teachers need to:
- Download the Zalo app on their device:
- Have a Zalo account. If not, you need to register for Zalo first.
Instructions for using Zalo to assign homework
Step 1: To quickly assign homework to your students, teachers need to create a group chat on Zalo.

Step 2: Once the class group has been created, teachers message within the group to let students know, exchange study materials, and assign homework.
Step 3: In the toolbar below the message composition area, teachers click on the paperclip icon.
At this moment, teachers click on 'Select File' to assign homework to students.
Navigate to the file storage directory containing the assignment you want to assign to students, then click on the assignment file, followed by clicking on 'Open'.
Step 4: Teachers send a message to let students know to download the assignment.
For more specific assignment distribution to students, teachers need to click on the task distribution icon on Zalo as shown below.
Zalo displays the task assignment interface. Here, teachers input:
- Title: To differentiate from other assignments and for easier management, teachers write a suitable title. For example: Assignment number 1.
- Content: Write the task content to assign to students. For example, completing tasks early in the file.
- Assign to: Teachers click on the box to select students to do the assignment. If assigning to all students, teachers click on the 'Select All' box.
- Deadline: Click on the No deadline box (Arrow 1) then select the date (Arrow 2). Afterward, you click on 'Assign Task'.
Step 5: Zalo will display your assigned tasks within the group. Here, teachers and students can view detailed task content.
Click on the 'x' icon, Zalo will appear as follows.
Assigning tasks to individual students via Zalo, teachers only need to upload the assignments into the group and schedule deadlines for their students to complete and submit. For other assignments to be given to students, teachers can follow the same process.
