For those accustomed to handling numerous files and folders, managing such a volume is no easy task. Manual searches can be time-consuming, making it challenging to find what you need. That's why Windows 10 introduces quick search to swiftly access your work.

Utilizing the Search Button

When memory recall becomes challenging, and locating apps, files, or specific features seems impossible, simply use the search button on the Taskbar.
The search button (magnifying glass icon) is by default located on the Taskbar.
Here, simply input the name of an app, document, image, or anything else you wish to find, and the results will swiftly appear in the search window.

For more specific searches, you can choose result types (apps, documents, web, etc.) from the menu above the window.

If you don't see the Search Button, right-click on the Taskbar, select Search >> Show search icon | box.

Searching through File Explorer
- Enter File Explorer in the search window to open this application, or you can open it conventionally by clicking on its icon on the Taskbar.

- First, try to recall the folder where the file you are searching for is located. The more specific the target, the quicker the search results will appear.
- When you are ready to search, use the search box in the top right corner of the File Explorer window. Enter any information about the file, such as the file name or extension, then press Enter. Search results for the file will appear in the center.

- Once you've identified the file you need, click to open it.
Third-Party Applications
If you prefer not to use the built-in search tools in Windows, you can opt for third-party tools. Here, Mytour introduces you to the free software Everything.
First, download the software from the link: https://www.voidtools.com/downloads/
Choose Download Installer or Download Installer 64-bit depending on your operating system.

After installing the software, you'll be directed to its main interface. It's user-friendly—just input your search keywords, and the results will display quickly (much faster than File Explorer).

Everything's drawback compared to Windows' default search is that it only searches by file name and cannot search within file content.
Here, Mytour has introduced 3 methods to search for everything you need on Windows 10. Wishing you success!
