Barcode comes in two types: 8-digit and 13-digit. Both types have distinct methods of identification and differentiation.
– First, identify the barcode, then add all odd-numbered digits in the code such as 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11. Add the total of even-numbered digits 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12., and subtract the result from the 13th digit (the last digit).
Next, multiply the total of even-numbered digits by 3 and add it to the total of odd-numbered digits. Finally, add the result to the last digit 13. If the last digit of the final result is 0, it is genuine; otherwise, it is undoubtedly counterfeit.

– Calculate the sum of even digits: Even = 8 + 9 + 1 + 3 + 0 + 2 = 23 – Calculate the sum of odd digits (excluding the 13th digit): Odd = 8 + 0 + 0 + 3 + 5 + 4 = 20 – Total = (Even * 3) + Odd = (23 * 3) + 20 = 89
– Finally, add the Total to the 13th digit: 89 + 1 = 90 – 90 is the final result, and the last digit is 0. So, this is 100% accurate genuine. Adding the result, making the last digit 0, is an international convention known as EAN, and this method is always correct.
