Effortless Online Check-in Guide for Vietnamese Airlines Ensures Smooth Travel Experience
To streamline the process and reduce queues at airports, Vietnamese airlines have introduced online check-in. Passengers can now proactively confirm their flight information up to 24 hours before departure, making it incredibly convenient and swift!
- Vietnam Airlines
The online check-in window for Vietnam Airlines is from 24 hours to 2 hours before departure. You can complete the process at check-in counters at the airport or directly on the airline's website. For online check-in, please follow these steps:
Step 2: Fill in all the necessary information in the provided fields, including: last name, departure point, booking reference (PNR), electronic ticket number. The FFP card number field is reserved for loyal customers or Skyteam alliance members. Then, check the box “I have read and agree to the privacy policy”, and click “Proceed to Check-in”.
Step 3: The system will display the required information. You need to check the box next to your name and then click “Continue”.
Step 4: The system will show the seat map. Select your seat and then click “Proceed to Check-in”.
Step 5: You can print your check-in information.
Online check-in service of Vietnam Airlines is applicable only for flights operated by Vietnam Airlines and departing from the following airports:
+ Cam Ranh International Airport – Nha Trang
+ Cat Bi International Airport – Hai Phong
+ Chu Lai International Airport – Quang Nam
+ Da Nang International Airport – Da Nang
+ Noi Bai International Airport – Hanoi
+ Phu Quoc International Airport – Kien Giang
+ Tan Son Nhat International Airport – Ho Chi Minh City
+ Van Don International Airport – Quang Ninh
+ Vinh International Airport – Nghe An
+ Can Tho Airport VCA – effective from May 10, 2022.
+ Thanh Hoa Airport THD – effective from May 18, 2022.
+ Pleiku Airport PXU – effective from May 31, 2022.
+ Phu Cat Airport – Quy Nhon UIH – effective from June 08, 2022.
+ Buon Ma Thuot Airport (BMV) – effective from October 25, 2022.
+ Ca Mau Airport (CAH) – expected to be effective from November 08, 2022.
Vietnam Airlines online check-in service does not apply to the following passenger categories:
+ Passengers requesting special services (excluding passengers requesting special meal services).
+ Passengers refused carriage, deported passengers.
+ Passengers traveling with infants under 02 years old.
+ Passengers using complimentary or discounted tickets.
+ Passengers traveling on flights departing from cities not listed above.
+ Passengers traveling on flights operated by other airlines.
+ Passengers traveling on codeshare flights between Vietnam Airlines and other airlines, where the other airline operates the flight.
- Vietjet Air
You must be present at the airport and be confirmed by Vietjet Air staff, stamping your boarding pass no later than 30 minutes before domestic flight departure and 45 minutes for international flights. Vietjet Air's online check-in allows you to choose your preferred seat (like a window seat) without extra charge (other airlines may charge).
Step 2: Enter the booking code and passenger name in the corresponding fields:
Note that if passenger names in the booking confirmation email are written as: A, B (separated by commas), then you will enter A in the surname field; enter B in the given name field.
Click “Search for booking” and select “Continue” after the system displays passenger information.
If one booking code is shared among multiple individuals, you check-in and select seats for each person sequentially. That means the first time you enter the booking code and input the first passenger's name. After completing the check-in, you go back to the beginning to input the second person's name.
Step 3: Review the information and tick the flight segment(s). If it's a round-trip ticket, make sure to tick the flight(s) you want to check-in for (because there are two consecutive flights) and then click “Continue”.
Step 4: The aircraft layout appears with empty seats (in green) and occupied seats (in brown). Click on the seat you prefer to select it.
Remember, window seats on the aircraft are in rows A and F, meaning the two outer rows. Rows B and E are the middle seats. The remaining rows, C and D, are aisle seats. If you often need to use the restroom, it's best to choose these two rows for convenience. If you enjoy the view, choose A or F. Once you've made your selection, press the “Confirm Seat” button.
Step 5: Confirm check-in completion:
Check the information on the screen (passenger name, flight, seat number). If everything looks good, you have 3 yellow option cards below.
Press “Print” if you want to print your boarding pass (on the day of the flight, just bring it to the airport and ask Vietjet Air staff to stamp it for confirmation). Or press “Send email” to resend ticket information, including the selected seat number, to your email.
Or press “Finish” to return to the original booking page and proceed for the second or third passenger on the ticket (if there are multiple passengers traveling together).
Vietjet Air's online check-in service is applicable only for flights operated by Vietjet Air and departing from the following airports: Noi Bai (HAN), Da Nang (DAD), Tan Son Nhat (SGN), Cam Ranh (CXR), Phu Quoc (PQC), Cat Bi (HPH).
Vietjet Air's online check-in system does not apply to the following passengers:
+ Passengers traveling with infants under 2 years old.
+ Passengers with limited mobility or requiring special assistance.
+ Groups with more than 10 passengers under the same booking code.
+ Booking codes with outstanding payments to the airline (due to changes in reservations, baggage, etc., but not yet settled).
- Bamboo Airways
Step 2: Enter your booking code or electronic ticket number and provide the full name (first name + middle name + last name) of one of the passengers on the flight.
Step 3: On the booking data page, select the passenger name and flight to proceed, then click “Continue”.
Step 4: The screen displays ICI regulations for passengers and baggage. Please carefully read the information, then click “Agree” and “Continue”.
Step 5: On the utility page, you can choose additional services such as selecting your favorite seat for the flight and proceed to payment. Otherwise, click “Continue”.
Step 6: Once you have completed the process, the system will display a successful check-in notification. Here, you can choose to print your boarding pass for yourself or accompanying passengers and send it via email.
Step 7: The screen displays a boarding pass sent notification. Please check your email. Upon receiving the boarding pass, you can either print it out or store it on your phone.
Step 8: Upon arrival at the airport, please ensure you have all required identification documents. If you have checked baggage, proceed to the baggage drop counter. If you do not have checked baggage, passengers who have completed online check-in can proceed directly to the security checkpoint without going to the check-in counter. Here, security personnel will verify the information on your boarding pass. Once completed, proceed to the boarding gate.
Please be at the departure gate 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time or at least 15 minutes prior to the departure time printed on the ticket.
Bamboo Airways' online check-in service is applicable only for flights operated by Bamboo Airways and departing from the following airports: Noi Bai (HAN), Da Nang (DAD), Tan Son Nhat (SGN), Nha Trang (CXR), Phu Quoc (PQC), Con Dao (VCS).
Note: Bamboo Airways does not offer online check-in for the following cases:
+ Passengers requesting special services (except special meal services).
+ Passengers refused carriage/ deported passengers.
+ Passengers traveling with infants under 2 years old or pregnant passengers.
+ More than 09 passengers under the same booking code.
