When downloading files from the internet onto your computer, they often come with various names chosen by the uploader. This can make it challenging to manage them quickly and efficiently. Renaming each file individually can be time-consuming and cumbersome. In this article, I'll show you how to rename multiple files on Windows 11 with ease, making data management a breeze.
1. How to Batch Rename Files on Windows 11
You can directly use the File Explorer file manager on Windows 11 to batch rename files.
Step 1: Search for the files you want to rename, then press Ctrl and select each file, or you can use Ctrl + A to select all files.

Step 2: Right-click and choose Rename > Set name for the selected File, then press Enter.
Note: You can add numbers to make them easier to differentiate. These file names will be uniformly changed.

2. Using File Renaming Software
Here, I'm utilizing the PowerToys software, which is open-source and provided free for personal use, offering extensive and rapid customization.

Step 1: Download the software using the link below. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the .msi file for download.

Step 2: Open the newly downloaded file and select Install as usual.

Step 3: In the PowerSetting interface, navigate to PowerRename and enable the feature depicted in the image.

Step 4: Then, select the files to be renamed > Right-click and choose PowerRename Option.

Step 5: Finally, you add the new name in the Search for section and select Rename to change the name.
