Sending and Receiving Gigabyte Data via Email at Lightning Speed
As mentioned earlier, nowadays if you use Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, attaching gigabyte data when sending emails is impossible. To send and receive gigabyte data via email, follow the steps below:
Preparation
- Your email account, if you don't have one, you can refer to how to register for an email here
- The email account of the person you want to send the file to (recipient).
- The data file you want to send
Step 1: Access FSend HERE
FSend is known as a third-party application acting as a 'bridge' for transferring large data via Email between senders and recipients.
The interface of FSend appears quite simple and intuitive; users can explore further instructions or choose to skip instructions when accessing FSend.
Step 2: Attach 'massive' data via Email on FSend
- On the main interface, select 'Attach file' (1)
- A dialog box will appear, choose the file you want to send, for example, select to send the Windows 10 setup (2) which is 3.4GB in size, then press OK (3) to confirm the selection of this quite heavy Windows 10 setup file.
- Here is the list of attached files you have selected; if you choose multiple files at once, you can click on it to review whether they are sufficient or not.
- Note
- Currently, you can only select up to 20 files to send at once, with a maximum size of 20GB. Selecting more than 20 files and a size larger than 20GB is not possible.
- After finishing viewing, you can select 'Close' and proceed to the next step
Step 3: Fill in sender's information, recipient's information, and a message
- Sender's information is the sender's Email address
- Recipient's information is the recipient's Email address
- Message (optional)
Step 4: Send the file
- After filling in all the necessary information, press 'Send' to proceed with sending the file
- Wait for the data to be loaded, this process may be fast or slow depending on two factors. First, the size of the data you are sending; second, your internet connection speed. Currently, FSend provides fairly fast and stable speeds.
- After FSend finishes loading the data
- Note
- During the file upload process to FSend, pausing is not supported. You can press F5 to retry or close to start over.
Step 5: Download the data to your computer
- The recipient can go to their Email to download
- This is the Email sent by FSend to the recipient, you can copy the 'Download Link' or click 'Download Now' to retrieve them.
- A dialog box will appear, select 'Download'
- Users can utilize IDM, FDM, or some download support software to download the files. Currently, IDM provides stable high-speed downloads.

- Attached files are stored for 7 days, you can share them by sending Download Links or forwarding emails to multiple recipients, they can download and use them simultaneously.
