If the Windows 10 startup melody has lost its charm, swap it for your favorite tunes to inject extra energy into your workdays.
Music is a positive energy source for everyone, including professionals. A favorite song or a great melody can provide an extra boost for a productive workday. The default Windows 10 startup sound, used for years, can become monotonous with daily use. So, why not change the startup sound to your favorite songs, lively music, and kickstart a new workday? Below is a detailed guide on how to change the startup sound in the Windows 10 operating system.
Step 1: Open the Speaker icon on the Taskbar and select Open Sound Settings to access settings.
Step 2: In the newly opened Settings, select the Sound Control Panel to explore additional audio control settings.
Step 3: Continue by choosing Sounds and mark the Play Windows Start-up Sound section to activate the startup sound for the operating system.
Step 4: Once activated, you need to select Apply => OK to confirm the changes.
Step 5: Since Windows 10 doesn't directly support changing the startup sound, we'll utilize the Winaero tool.
Visit the official Winaero website and select Click here to download the file to save it to your computer.
Step 6: Winaero will be compressed in a Zip file. Right-click and choose Extract to winaero... to unzip it.
Step 7: Before installing the Winaero tool, right-click on SilentSetup.Cmd and select Run as administrator to execute.
Step 8: Now, perform the same steps with the WinaeroTweaker file to run the software installation.
Step 9: In the setup window, select I AGREE to confirm the terms of use.
Step 10: After the software is successfully installed, prepare an audio clip or song to use as your computer's startup sound. Ensure the sound file is saved in .Wav format, as other formats are not supported.
If the original file is in .Mp3 format, simply delete the .Mp3 extension and replace it with .Wav.
Step 11: Let's go back to Winaero Tweaker, choose the Startup Sound (1) section and select Replace Startup Sound (2) to modify the Windows 10 startup sound.
Step 12: To modify the startup sound, simply choose the prepared .Wav sound file and click Open to add it to the system.
Step 13: After a successful change, the system will prompt for a restart to apply the new changes. Choose Reboot Now to restart your computer.
Upon restarting, you will immediately notice the changed startup sound.
