With Tuy Hoa as the starting point, venture north to marvel at unique rock formations or ride a motorbike along the southern coastal roads.
Experience Phu Yen for 3 days in the land of 'golden flowers and green grass'
Travelers can reach Phu Yen by various means such as planes, trains, or cars. However, due to limited flights to Tuy Hoa (approximately 4 flights per day from Hanoi and HCMC) and high costs, most travelers opt for trains or cars.
Day 1: Hanoi – Tuy Hoa
Choose between a train or car journey from Hanoi to Phu Yen, taking approximately 24 to 28 hours, or around 10 hours from HCMC. Typically, guests arrive in the city of Tuy Hoa around 7 – 8 pm.
Despite limited entertainment zones, Tuy Hoa becomes a favorite for those who appreciate the tranquil beauty of the night sea. After renting a motorbike (priced around 130,000 – 150,000 VND per day), you can head to the April 1st Square located by the beach. Here, indulge in renowned snacks like grilled beef in betel leaves, grilled ram skewers priced at 2,000 – 4,000 VND per skewer, or a smoothie for 10,000 – 12,000 VND per cup.

If you're looking for a hearty meal, you can explore places like Le Thanh Ton chicken rice, Tran Quy Cap and Nguyen Cong Tru pig intestine porridge, Le Duan sizzling pancake, or Le Duan tuna restaurant. Tuy Hoa offers a plethora of dishes rarely found elsewhere.
Day 2: Tuy Hoa – Ganh Xep – Ganh Da Dia – Mang Lang Church
On the first day of exploring Phu Yen, you can ride north from Tuy Hoa city. A bowl of fish sauce vermicelli or Quang noodle is a suitable choice for breakfast.
The route from Tuy Hoa to the Ganh Da Dia area is close to the coastline. The wide and quiet road allows travelers to confidently ride a motorbike or drive a car. Beyond the city limits, you'll reach Tuy An district with its simple rural scenery.
The first stop for visitors is Ganh Xep. On the way to Ganh Da Dia, turn right onto a small path with pine trees and sand dunes on both sides. At the end of the road, you'll arrive. Ganh Xep may not be as extensive as Ganh Da Dia, but it features long stretches of fine sand. Enjoy the solitude on the beach and marvel at the wonders of rocks and seawater. Especially, atop the rocky cliff is a vast green field, offering a panoramic view.

Returning to the main road, you move towards Ganh Da Dia about 30 km away. This area doesn't have many eateries, so you can head to a resting point on the cliff to enjoy lunch. Travelers can choose from various seafood options, though not extensive, they are delicious and affordable. The price for a kilogram of freshly prepared squid on the spot is around 100,000 – 150,000 VND.
After dining and resting, travelers will follow a small path with staircases leading down. Ganh Da Dia is acclaimed as one of the world's most beautiful rock formations with layers of stacked rocks resembling beehives on the sea surface. Enjoy the vast seascape and the local life when you arrive.
If there's time in the afternoon, visitors can also explore Mang Lang Church or return to Tuy Hoa city to witness the sunset over the Nhạn Tower or admire the Da Rang River.
Day 3: Tuy Hoa – Vung Ro
On the final day, head south of Tuy Hoa city and visit renowned landmarks like Mon Beach – Mui Dien lighthouse, Vung Ro port, and the memorial monument for countless ships. The road hugs the mountains, running parallel to the sea. Along the Tuy Hoa – Vung Ro route, you'll be captivated by the vast green expanse of the sea.
Visitors can park near local homes close to Mon Beach and climb the staircases leading to the lighthouse. Considered the easternmost point on Vietnam's mainland, Mui Dien lighthouse is a destination where many young travelers want to leave their mark. Experiencing the sunrise from Dai Lanh lighthouse is also recognized as one of the top 10 things to try in Vietnam.

After leaving the Mui Dien lighthouse, you can visit the Vung Ro port area to immerse yourself in the fishermen's way of life. Here, witness the fishing village of Phu Yen with fish farms and boats, creating a vibrant seascape.
For a complete journey through the South Central region, you can combine a visit to Phu Yen with other provinces like Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, and Khanh Hoa.
