Summer is the perfect season for beach trips, with the sea shimmering in its bluest shade, the sun casting a golden glow, and the sky stretching endlessly. When it comes to the deep blue hue of the sea, Ca Na stands out above all. To fully immerse yourself in the beauty of Ca Na Beach, follow the coastal road of Ninh Thuan on a sunny summer day.
Ca Na Beach
About 300 km from Saigon via National Highway 1A in the direction of Hanoi lies the Ca Na coastal area. Unlike the golden sandy beaches in Phan Thiet, Ca Na Beach features white sand and incredibly clear water. The highway runs very close to the beach, simply park your car and take a few steps to reach the shore. This stretch of road is exceptionally beautiful, with low rocky hills on one side and a deep blue sea on the other.
Along the shores of Ca Na Beach, you'll find seafood restaurants and numerous resorts. Simply passing through, you can drop by for lunch at a restaurant while enjoying the scenery. For a more immersive experience, consider staying overnight at one of the accommodation options such as Hon Co Ca Na Resort, Ca Na Hotel, Hai Dang Hotel - Mui Dinh,...
The crystal-clear waters of Ca Na will delight even the most discerning travelers. Ca Na Beach isn't just a long stretch of continuous sand; it alternates between small bathing beaches and rocky shores. The water here is quite deep, so when swimming, it's best to stay relatively close to shore.

Salt fields of Ca Na
The coastal road in Ninh Thuan (section of provincial road 701) starts from Lac Nghiep hamlet, Ca Na commune, Thuan Nam district and stretches to Ninh Chu beach, Ninh Hai district, Ninh Thuan province. From National Highway 1A in the Ca Na coastal area, drive to the Ca Na gas station and then turn right onto the “New Intersection” road. After crossing the Ca Na bridge, you will enter provincial road 701.
At the beginning stretch of provincial road 701 lies the stunning salt fields of Ca Na. The asphalt road runs through the salt fields, taking you through flat salt fields where seawater is channeled in and awaits evaporation under the blazing sun of the coastal region. The Ca Na salt fields, although not large, are surrounded by mountains, creating a beautiful landscape.

Leaving the Ca Na salt fields, you'll pass by Ca Na seaport, where sturdy concrete docks are built to accommodate and transport goods.

Scenic views along the coastal road of Binh Thuan
Provincial road 701 is well constructed and maintained. This route is particularly deserted at noon, with no eateries, hotels, or guesthouses along the way. From what I've gathered, this area is earmarked for the development of Vietnam's first nuclear power plants, so the coastal road of Ninh Thuan is not intended for tourism development. Perhaps because it's not obscured by resorts, travelers on this route will enjoy unobstructed views of mountains and azure seas. And here are some experiences you'll encounter:

Mui Dinh sand dunes
Mui Dinh is a relatively wild promontory located about 20km from Ca Na port, with a small lighthouse atop its highest point. To reach the lighthouse from the asphalt road, you have to traverse about 1km of pure sand to Trang Beach, then climb up to the lighthouse. Currently, there's a stone path leading from the asphalt road to Trang Beach, but it's often buried in sand. If you're an experienced driver, you can still ride a motorbike to Trang Beach. Young travelers often bring tents to camp overnight at Trang Beach and head to the lighthouse at dawn to witness the sunrise. When I went, the sand was heavily piled up and sunk, so I couldn't reach Trang Beach, just wandering to admire the vast sand dunes like a desert under the midday sun.

If you have plenty of time, there are still many places to visit along the Ca Na coastal road such as:

In the summer, try traveling on this road to witness the unparalleled blue color of Ca Na beach. Don't forget to visit the attractions along the way if you have time!
