DINING ITINERARY
DAY 1 BREAKFAST
– Spicy fish intestine noodle at 66 Le Loi (7:00 AM – 6:00 PM) for 30k. A mixed bowl of fish intestine, fish liver, and fried fish with a sweet and spicy broth (be ready for a sweat-inducing spicy kick).
– Xoi Ba Sai at 28A Cau Dat – the most renowned sticky rice spot in Hai Phong. If you're a fan of sticky rice, after indulging in the spicy fish intestine noodles, hop on over for a taste. Across the street is Co Dao market, famous for its variety of street foods.
– Coconut coffee at Mrs. Hanh's 148 Luong Khanh Thien for 25k. The shop opens from 9 AM to 9 PM. Not typically a coffee person, but after trying a cup of coconut coffee here, I was won over by its rich blend of coffee, coconut, coconut flesh, jelly, tapioca pearls, and crushed ice, creating a creamy, aromatic delight.
– Spicy baguette at 37 Dinh Tien Hoang, devouring 10 pieces and a cup of Thai tea, totaling 35k for a satisfying fullness. Next door is the famous 1986 café – 39 Dinh Tien Hoang, known for its numerous Instagrammable corners and decent beverages.

DAY 1 LUNCH
– Seafood vermicelli at Be Be market, Cau Dao.
– Chamomile tea at 33 Phan Boi Chau, known as the favorite drink of Hai Phong locals. Alternatively, you can enjoy it at 17 Dinh Tien Hoang (near Hai Phong Opera House).
DAY 1 AFTERNOON SNACK
– Sweet potato porridge at 213 Dinh Dong (3-5 PM) for 10k, an eye-catching afternoon dish made from bone broth, minced greens, rice, and sliced tofu. Alternatively, you can visit 63 Con market for more options.
– Tofu pudding cake at 159 Hai Ba Trung (9 AM - 5 PM) for 12k, described as 'exquisitely delicious,' and highly impressive.
– Seaweed shoots (seaweed) – Cat Bi Market, 34 Ly Hong Nhat, Cat Bi
– Beef skin salad – Cat Bi Market, 34 Ly Hong Nhat, Cat Bi
– Vietnamese mini pancakes – Cat Bi Market, 34 Ly Hong Nhat, Cat Bi
– Clear tapioca dumplings – Cat Bi Market, 34 Ly Hong Nhat, Cat Bi

DAY 1 DINNER
– Crab noodle cake at alley 195 Cau Dat (near the famous granny's crab noodle cake stall), 40k/bowl, a mixed bowl of shrimp, seaweed, fish cake, snail cake, grilled leaf cake, with a rich aromatic broth, authentic Hanoi crab noodle cake standard. Served with long, crispy fried dough sticks – surprisingly, almost everyone eats here.
– Streetlight pate sandwich (at the intersection of To Hieu and Chua Hang), sold from 5 PM to 3 AM, highly hyped but personally not to my liking.
– Creamy coconut at Hien Beo – 124 Lach Tray, only 25k for a rich flavor.

DAY 2 BREAKFAST
– Beef vermicelli with vinegar at Mrs. Thuy – No. 98 Hai Ba Trung (open from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM), recommended by a local as the best beef vermicelli in Hai Phong. Indeed, the taste is excellent, with tender and fragrant beef.
– Mrs. Dung's water fern cake – No. 41 Le Dai Hanh (8:30 AM - 6:30 PM), similar to Hanoi's pyramid dumplings but with a chewier crust and a distinctive dipping sauce, featuring tasty pork rolls and vegetables. A must-try when in Hai Phong. Phone number: 0934304604.
– Spicy sandwich – Thai dessert 57 Le Loi, 2.5k/piece, 10k for Thai dessert (initially thought the spicy sandwich at 37 Dinh Tien Hoang was the epitome of love, but no – 57 Le Loi is the true love, the ecstasy of stick bread. The spicy sauce is fragrant, the bread is crispy and soft, and the pate is divine).
– Hien's coconut smoothie at 148 Luong Khanh Thien for 25k -> Absolutely fantastic, overflowing with young coconut, coconut strips, tapioca pearls... creamy and delicious without being overly sweet.
Hope this 24-hour food guide to the delights of Hai Phong helps you have a belly-filling trip like mine. See you again Hai Phong very soon!
