Many of you are likely familiar with the top-ranking lo-fi music playlist on YouTube, ideal for concentration during work or study sessions. It consistently appears at the forefront of YouTube searches, featuring a thumbnail of a foreign girl earnestly studying. Just a few days ago, a YouTube account named Jiji talented uploaded a similar version, but with an all-Vietnamese children's music twist.Revisit the familiar tunes of the 80s and 90s childhood, such as Echoes of the dawn, Bringing rice to mom for farming, I go in the middle of the golden sea, or Rice grains in our village. These songs will transport us back to the cherished days of youth. The creator shares insights into the artwork for the thumbnail: “I drew the artwork based on illustrations from old Vietnamese language books when I was in elementary school. It's my favorite artwork in the Lofi Girl series. I depicted a dreamy room, with this girl flying out into space. Then I thought, let's make the lo-fi girl a Vietnamese elementary schoolgirl from the past, sitting in a kitchen with potatoes, tomatoes, and purple onions in small dishes, with a strainer and a bowl of chopsticks laid out to dry. There's an old calendar, beautiful sunlight, and in the distance, a field. Especially, an old radio is playing classic childhood tunes. I want to create a space where I want to live, experience that life, and take you on a nostalgic journey right on your study desk. That's my biggest wish in creating this series: to take you on a 'time-travel' adventure through different eras, places, and lives by recreating those spaces.”
