Suôi Thầu prairie, located in Suôi Thầu hamlet, is approximately 7 km from the center of Xín Mần district. The route to the prairie is quite convenient and easy. Lining the road leading to the prairie are lush green cherry blossom trees. The prairie is favored for its spaciousness and cool climate. Spring brings a flourish of mustard flowers, while summer blankets the prairie with vibrant yellow sunflowers and green hues of cornfields and rice paddies. Winter showcases the stunning pink hues of buckwheat flowers.

Suôi Thầu prairie, where the H'Mong people typically cultivate rice, corn, and medicinal herbs... During the autumn harvest season, locals also plant various types of flowers such as buckwheat and mustard, suited to the soil and climate conditions, not only providing food but also offering vibrant colors for visitors to admire. The vast expanse of grass, trees, and flowers on the prairie has become a source of inspiration for creative artists and a place for travelers to wander.
November is the peak time for buckwheat flowers to bloom in their full glory, and during this period, tourists can easily encounter a sea of clouds at
Suôi Thầu prairie. The sea of clouds typically appears from 5 AM and gradually dissipates after 2-3 hours, so it's advisable to arrive early if you want to hunt for clouds. To meet the needs of tourists, in recent years, locals have been planting buckwheat crops. Therefore, despite its lifespan of only about 2 months, this flower still blooms from October to around January or February of the following lunar year.
From Suôi Thầu, you can see the villages of Pà Vầy Sủ, Chí Cà, Thèn Phàng, Cốc Rế, and even the town of Cốc Pài. Therefore, in addition to Suôi Thầu prairie, tourists can combine their experience with other routes in the highland district of Xín Mần such as: Tiên waterfall - Gió pass (Nấm Dẩn), Thiên Thủy cave (Nàn Ma), Nậm Choong hot spring (Quảng Nguyên)... Here, you can also indulge in delicious dishes at Cốc Pài market such as banana cake, rolled cake, red noodle soup, fried rice, grilled chicken with mac khen sauce...
