Despite lying 3,800m deep beneath the Atlantic Ocean, 400 nautical miles off the coast of Canada, you can still dive down and behold the legendary Titanic, with a price tag of 250,000 euros for a single experience. OceanGate, a U.S.-based service company, has announced the release of Titanic wreck tours, departing in May 2023 with an 8-day itinerary.
Therefore, participants of this tour are not just ordinary tourists, but are also considered adventurers, with mandatory participation conditions including: being over 18 years old, having good health for climbing, carrying heavy objects, and enduring long periods in a specialized diving vessel. The company is also collaborating with NASA to perfect the design of the world's only deep-diving vessel capable of reaching the depth of the Titanic wreck and accommodating up to 5 people at once.
OceanGate states that these expeditions are part of a multi-year research journey into the Titanic and the unique biodiversity ecosystem surrounding it. Additionally, the company offers deep dives in the Hudson Canyon trench, likened to the Grand Canyon beneath the ocean.
