As you descend from the refreshing heights of Ô Quy Hồ towards Tam Đường (Lai Châu), every inch of the slope feels like a breath taken.
Discover the enchanting beauty of Nà Luồng on your Lai Châu adventure.

Despite the scorching sun and intense heat, venturing into the quaint paths of this small village nestled at the foot of the mountains leaves us astounded: Nà Luồng is simply beautiful!
The Nậm Mu River flows gracefully, surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant crops, creating a picturesque scene. Nà Luồng, situated on the opposite bank, seems like a dreamy maiden beckoning every traveler to explore. Standing on a modest bamboo bridge, just wide enough for a single motorcycle to pass through, we feel the serene tranquility of Nà Luồng.
According to local tales, “Nà” means fields, and “Luồng” refers to dragons, symbolizing a land blessed by the Nậm Mu River winding like a sacred dragon in this idyllic landscape.
A narrow path leads to a small village permeated with the scent of straw. Most houses are either metal-sheeted stilt houses or traditional earthen-wall thatched houses. Wildflowers and green moss spill from the golden earth walls, blending with the earth-toned dresses drying in front of the house porch.
Mother and her offspring—pigs, ducks, and chickens—move leisurely in the yard, occasionally startled by unfamiliar guests. The fence, made of woven bamboo, is thin and low, adorned with clusters of unfamiliar flowers instead of the conventional inviting gestures of the host.
However, Nà Luồng is best appreciated by travelers who enjoy exploring the natural scenery and delving into cultural customs. The majority of the local households are grappling with poverty.
Over 500 people here rely on the terraced fields and the Nậm Mu River when its swirling waters recede, revealing a dry riverbed. They strive to preserve the ancient traditions of the ethnic community through traditional summer festivals, months of patient weaving and embroidering, and crafting fragrant tea from dried twigs, along with inviting dishes of aromatic sticky rice for guests.
The smiles of Nà Luồng, whether the weathered grin of the silver-haired elders or the innocent, crisp smiles of the children, evoke warmth and a touch of sorrow. A small gift hastily prepared cannot fully reciprocate the genuine hospitality of the locals.
The laughter of Nà Luồng, be it the weathered grins with silver strands or the innocent giggles of the little ones, makes us feel both warm and a bit melancholic. The small gifts hastily prepared in our hurried departure cannot truly match the heartfelt hospitality of the people here.
As the sun painted the sky in hues of purple at sunset, we reluctantly bid farewell to Nà Luồng. Villagers lined the small path, waving goodbye to distant guests. How easily is such warmth found amidst the bustling world?
In the misty afternoon rain and gentle breeze, we retraced our steps on the narrow bamboo suspension bridge, peering down at the Nậm Mu River, its rocky bed stirring emotions as over a dozen children enthusiastically dove to gather clams beneath the water...
Gazing back at the indigo smoke drifting over the thatched roofs, we yearned for this picturesque village to be known by many.
