'Discovered this gem through a friend's recommendation. Even before arriving at the neighborhood, the pictures, decor, and Xom's wardrobe had me hooked. As a fan of secondhand, 1980s fashion, and the vibe of Xom, I knew this was the place to be, and I wasn't disappointed. The way Xom plays music is just perfect, making it a must-visit and stay destination.'

A stay is a crucial part of completing any journey. After a few days away, you start missing home. Returning to Xom feels like finding solace, replenishing love from a distant place. Ever experienced Deja Vu? It's the phenomenon where you come across a scene in reality, and suddenly, it feels like you've experienced it in the past or dreamt about it. That's exactly the emotion when standing in front of Xom.

Stepping into 67 Bui Thi Xuan, I was captivated by the wooden sign that reads 'Everyone has a 'Xom.'' A stream of memories, like electricity running down the spine, left me in awe and contemplation.
An afternoon playlist of classic tunes and the perfect books to savor
Someone intentionally or serendipitously placed the book 'Give Me a Ticket to Childhood' on this quaint table like this, and it just fits.

If Hanoi has Cộng and Tranquil, then Da Nang has Xom.
The lower floor of Xom is a beer pub & coffee always ready to serve, while the upper floor is the homestay where we stayed. Just looking at the coffee shop is enough to understand how unique Xom's homestay is.
Drinks here are more affordable than in Hanoi. I suggest you try the coffee selections; they're truly delightful.
This place holds many endearing things. From old books taped together, vintage tube TVs, yellow flower-patterned tiles, a one-square-meter hair salon, the bearded owner resembling a poetic farmer smoking a pipe, to the charming long-haired sister with a gentle Central Vietnamese accent: 'Sit here, enjoy your drink, what are you being all fancy for.' Short-legged dog named Si runs to everyone, craving attention. It's like everyone's living room. Indeed, just like the atmosphere in Xom.

Xom's Hippy – Trippy – Vintage style is evident in every nook and cranny, decor, and arrangement of items harmonizing with warm tones, creating a cozy ambiance.
The scent of Xom is distinct: a hint of freshly ground coffee and cinnamon.Xom boasts 6 charming rooms, each equipped with refreshing air conditioning, private bathrooms with hot and cold water, immaculate cleanliness, a personal lockable wardrobe, and Wi-Fi so strong you might forget the way back home.
– 2 dorm rooms, one with 10 beds and the other with 4 beds. Priced at 100K/person/night.
– 2 family rooms, one featuring a large double bed, and the other with a single bed and a double bed. Prices range from 400K to 600K per room.
– 2 sparkling romantic couple rooms priced at 200K to 300K per room.
Rooms adorned with dreamlike beauty. The room furnishings, from curtains, sheets, pillows, rugs, all boast charming paisley patterns. Decorative accessories like lamps, dream catchers, potted plants, and adorable tea sets add a touch of uniqueness and familiarity. Each room is adorned with small shelves carrying fragrant herbs like cinnamon and fragrant leaves, creating a delightful and relaxing aroma.

And behold, this is the most charming dorm room I've ever seen. Blankets and pillows on each bed are adorned with exquisite indigenous patterns, with hanging racks at the bedside. Not to mention, each bed has a curtain divider, ensuring privacy for everyone.

I adore the dorm room here for its openness, spacious balcony flooded with light, and a comfortable common area. In the morning, just love to open the door, gaze at the balcony, inhale the serene air, and enjoy the soothing sounds outside. Looking at the green plants, it's pure satisfaction.

Furthermore, each room features enchanting lights or dream catchers, providing ample opportunities for creating stunning indoor photos. Even the staircase corridor and outer walls of the rooms are carefully decorated by the owner. There's also a set of small tables and chairs outside each room for us.
Even the charming rug is irresistibly cute. Everywhere you look is a perfect spot for beautiful photos. The rooms here evoke a sense of privacy, adorned with romantic decor, ideal for couples in love.

However, there isn't a private bathroom for each room, and the room space isn't overly spacious or airy. Due to the vintage & romantic style, the bedrooms may seem a bit dim and dreamy. If additional bright tube lights are added to the closed rooms, it would be perfect for me.

The top floor offers a slightly more private space for us to play Uno, read books, or share heartfelt conversations in the dim light. Having a party up here is also a great idea for our group. If Xom were a girl, she would be a gentle, feminine image, vintage, a bit mysterious, yet with a touch of free-spirited allure.
Afternoons with a cup of tea among friends on the top floor. Not only that, they also assist in booking budget-friendly tours for you. From daily group tours to Ba Na, Cu Lao Cham, Hoi An,... to weekly adventure tours like mountain climbing, camping on the beach, exploring ancient forests... They offer motorcycle rental services, including helmets at a special rate of 100K/bike/day, allowing you to freely explore the surrounding areas of Da Nang.

Here's the delicious beef noodle soup.
Another plus point for Xom is its prime location. Just 10 minutes by car from the airport, Asia Park, and 5 minutes to Dragon Bridge, Love Bridge, Dragon Carp turning into a Dragon, and My Khe Beach. Plus, it's situated in the famous Da Thanh street food area.

Xom also has street-style backgrounds like this.
Evenings at Xom truly come to life with sparkling lights. It glows from outside to inside; everyone gathers at the pub, plays some music, sips on a 15K iced coffee, and chats away with everyday stories. Relaxing in a space filled with emotions, it's as joyful as the old days when the entire village went to the communal yard to watch a movie. The staff here are young, just like me, all open-minded as always.

Back in Hanoi, still dreaming of the glittering lights and the tranquil scent of cinnamon at Xom. Instead of choosing generic accommodations like everywhere else, I opted for a Da Nang homestay that's memorable and full of warmth. Thank you, Xom, for making me feel connected and not lost when traveling far from home. Loving Xom is like loving Da Nang.
