Some horror movies seem to be haunted by a 'curse,' subjecting the film crew and actors to mysterious and tragic events.
The horror genre always captivates both enthusiasts and skeptics by exploiting human fears. However, few know that many films not only feature ghosts on screen but also encounter mysterious occurrences during filming. Mild instances involve supernatural phenomena related to props and settings, while severe cases can impact the lives of many. Such films are truly considered 'cursed,' and to this day, no one can explain these mysteries.
Here are 5 films rumored to be plagued by a lingering curse, instilling fear in everyone involved.
Insidious

Insidious is a renowned series in the horror film genre, featuring compelling plots and quality jump scares. The filming process faced numerous incidents, notably at an abandoned hospital named Linda Vista—a place rumored to be haunted.
While shooting a scene in the basement, the entire cast and film crew experienced fatigue, discomfort, and some even fell ill instantly. Additionally, the crew shared encounters with strange noises on set, including mysterious whispers emanating from empty rooms.
The Innkeepers

The Innkeepers was filmed at the notorious haunted Yankee Pedlar Hotel in the United States. Interestingly, this hotel is the very one mentioned in the movie.
During filming, lights would often flicker on/off inexplicably, and doors would suddenly swing open and slam shut, startling everyone. Not stopping there, both actors and crew members would receive mysterious phone calls, with silence on the other end.
Rosemary’s Baby

Rosemary’s Baby is considered cursed, bringing a bloody and tragic conclusion to those involved. Specifically, producer William Castle suffered kidney failure shortly after the film's release and received numerous anonymous threatening letters, as some believed Rosemary’s Baby glorified demonic forces. In a moment of desperation on his sickbed, he cried out, 'Rosemary, for God's sake, drop the knife!'
Not only that, but 6 months after the film's release, composer Krzysztof Komeda was pushed into a ravine during a brawl at a party. He later passed away due to a brain hemorrhage.
The Possession

The 2012 film 'The Possession' tells the story of Emily, who accidentally opens a wooden box containing the soul of an evil spirit. This soul begins to invade Emily with the intention of permanently possessing her body.
Despite the film not gaining much fame, the production process held many mysterious events for those involved. Specifically, the set was sealed, yet strange cold gusts of wind still blew through, sending shivers down everyone's spine. Lights would unexpectedly explode while filming, reminiscent of scenes we often see in movies.
The Omen

'The Omen' revolves around a couple unwittingly adopting a child named Damien, the Antichrist. True to its name, it seems that some demonic force has overshadowed this film. One day after the film crew completed a scene at the zoo, a zoo employee was also eaten by a tiger. On the same day, director Richard Donner's hotel was bombed.
