Planned for operation in early September 2014, the experience of hydro aircraft travel in Vietnam is considered a new milestone for Vietnamese tourism. Thiên Minh Group (TMG) will put into operation 2 Cesna Caravan hydro aircrafts from the United States, accommodating 12-18 passengers. The inaugural hydro flight route will connect Hanoi to Ha Long. Subsequently, in December, additional routes will operate from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet, Phan Thiết to Nha Trang, and Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang.
A one-hour flight by hydro aircraft will cost approximately 4,000 USD, evenly distributed among the passengers. The flight from Hanoi to Ha Long is estimated to take 30 minutes, with a price of around 250 USD per person per way. For passengers opting for a comprehensive tour, flying from Hanoi to Ha Long and enjoying a panoramic view of the bay, the cost is approximately 350 USD per person per way. Additional services will also be provided to ensure the utmost satisfaction and convenience for customers (day trip flights from Hanoi to Ha Long; overnight stay in a hotel for flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet before returning, etc.).
