In a surprising announcement, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has revealed Hogwarts Legacy at Sony's PlayStation 5 launch event. Check out the game preview below for a glimpse into Hogwarts, combat style, foes, and more.

There have been numerous leaks about the game since 2018, and in 2021, players will finally be able to visit the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and become a wizard or a witch. Hogwarts Legacy is described as an open-world action RPG promising to include both familiar and new locations in the Harry Potter universe.
The story unfolds in the 1880s, serving as a prequel to Harry Potter's adventures in the late '90s. This is how Avalanche Software, owned by Warner Bros., describes the setting of the game:
'Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. You are accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and soon discover that you are not an ordinary student. You possess an extraordinary ability to master and control ancient magic. Only you can decide whether you will protect this secret for the greater good or succumb to the allure of dark magic.'
Hogwarts Legacy will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The specific release date has not been announced, but the game will be released sometime in 2021. Stay tuned for the download link below:
