1. Interface and Menu
When first diving into FIFA 14, it was a complete departure from the familiar features of FIFA 13, transitioning into an entirely new interface.
But behold, what EA has delivered with FIFA 15. A prototype interface replicated from FIFA 14, with the only notable difference being a darker color scheme compared to the predominant white tones of FIFA 14.
However, there have been significant changes from EA. The way EA organizes features in the 'Kick Off' section, the placement of features like 'Play Match', 'Team Management', 'Game Setting', 'Customize Controls', and above them is the list of players along with relevant information between the two teams, looks very professional. It feels like starting a real match, one outside of the real world.
Even more surprising is the 'Team management' interface. Although this is the first time manipulating these features, it feels very convenient. In the 'Squad' section, there won't be a long list of players as in FIFA 14 and sometimes it's confusing not knowing who the official players are, who the substitutes are, or who is not allowed on the field.
In FIFA 15, the interface is your official team lineup along with the tactical scheme, below it is a popup interface including lists of 'Substitutes' and 'Reserves' separated. Players can use the right analog click to access the character stats feature.
A minor drawback in the interface is the failure to improve the players' clothing: jersey numbers and names are still incorrectly sized and don't look aesthetically pleasing.
2. Graphics, Sound, and Player Movements.
The way FIFA 15 immerses gamers into the match more with the vibrant sound of the ball, very distinct. A very different feeling when playing on FIFA 14, where the audience is more detailed graphically, and when there are dangerous situations, the sound and animations from the audience are quite diverse.
The actions of players when facing situations and incidents are also diverse. Above all, thanks to EA for eliminating the hassle of players having to pick up the ball themselves from the sidelines.
Another special point is when a player's jersey is pulled by the opponent, the jersey will stretch, though a small detail but adds to the authenticity.
From what I observed, both the players' and referees' shoulders visibly bulk up, more muscular.
3. Dribbling and Player Movement.
Some skills from FIFA 14 have been discarded and replaced with some new ones.
FIFA 15 is extremely easy for dribbling and it becomes even easier when switching game speed to fast. It feels like controlling some sort of extended version of FIFA World Cup 2014 (exclusive version only for Xbox360 and PS3). The movements and pace of the match seem much faster compared to FIFA 14.
One point that players might not be satisfied with is the feel of precision in this version. Playing style of dribbling down the wings and crossing for headers is almost like 'power off' when unable to adjust the power accurately and execute precise crosses. Corner kicks have much lighter ball trajectory, even when full power is applied.
4. Gameplay and AI
In some aspects, FIFA 15 has a difference from FIFA 14.
The AI is very smart and cunning in passing and how it handles in the penalty area.
FIFA 15 is a game that gamers eagerly anticipate.
