An unforgettable five-day journey of exploration in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai.
Exploring the Beauty of Northern Thailand

Discovering Chiang Rai
We couldn't forget the joy and excitement like little kids, first-hand feeding adorable giraffes under the evening glow at Singha Park Chiang Rai. Mesmerized, we sat sipping cocktails, watching the sunset over the deep green tea hills at the 'Phuphirom' restaurant on the hilltop.
Welcoming the Sunrise on Doi Tung – Chiang Rai
Witnessing the sunrise atop the nearly 2,000 meters high Doi Tung, it felt as if reaching out, we could touch the sun. This moment left us spellbound, unable to detach our hands from the camera, wanting to freeze this captivating moment.
Like legendary lands, the inhabitants of Chiang Rai have a tale of a fairy amidst everyday life, belonging to the remote northern region. On the journey to Doi Tung, this 'Mother of the Sky' transformed the land, once known as the 'dead land' and mysterious territory between Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar - the Golden Triangle - into a prosperous and tranquil haven that captivates every traveler's heart. She is the royal mother of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand and is deeply revered by the locals.

For adventurous travelers, cycling along vibrant, flower-lined winding roads to ethnic villages or trying activities like kayaking and waterfall rappelling can provide an adrenaline rush. As for me, exploring highland markets with local produce always holds a special allure.
Spiritual Land
Before bidding farewell to Chiang Rai, our Thai guide wanted to introduce a temple with a truly unique architecture. The White Temple - Wat Rongkhun - appears like a crystal in the heart of the city. A local artist built the temple to honor the purity of Buddha's teachings. With its distinctive architecture, the White Temple attracts a considerable number of visitors.
Leaving Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai greeted us with the characteristic charm of a land adorned with hundreds of ancient revered temples. The most famous, steeped in history and boasting impressive architecture, is the Royal Temple of Doi Suthep. Perched on a towering hill, it stands out with golden-topped spires and is connected to the sacred legend of the white elephant in Thai lore.
Furthermore, we had the chance to immerse ourselves in captivating Northern Thai folk tales and indulge in authentic Northern Thai cuisine, accompanied by the smooth melodies of traditional songs and lively dances at 'Khum Khantoke'.
Mountains and Parks
In Chiang Mai, for families with young ones, aside from the Ratchapruek Flower Park, a must-visit spot is the 'Chiang Mai Night Safari – Night Zoo'. Riding through the night to observe endangered species like rhinos, hippos, feeding giraffes, deer, and banana-eating elephants, or marveling at the intelligence of baby elephants painting vivid pictures, comparable to young artists, is an impressive and unforgettable lesson for the little ones.

Here, learning about nature conservation and the environment becomes the most exciting subject for students. Visitors can also explore the elephant training camp in Mae Sae, Chiang Mai, to enjoy performances like elephants painting, working, playing soccer, or simply ride elephants to explore the pristine forests.

There are many more diverse experiences in Chiang Mai, with picturesque villages, trekking tours, zip-lining over mountain peaks, or the unique Loy Krathong lantern festival, a tradition of Northern Thailand dating back to the Lanna Kingdom, typically celebrated from mid to late November depending on the year. Exploring and experiencing this land always leaves unforgettable impressions.
