Embracing closeness at home...
With parents unable to go to work and children missing school, everything is in upheaval. Nevertheless, I see this as a golden opportunity for parents and children to draw nearer, understand each other better, and foster deeper affection.During the usual routine, my child and I would typically meet for about 30 minutes to an hour or a bit more. On days when I stayed back due to work or went out with friends, I'd sometimes return home to find my child already asleep. And the next morning, there were times when they had already left for school...
Hence, even though living under the same roof, the chances of meeting, living together, and enjoying each other's company are not abundant. This is because in our apartment building, everyone shares the same floor. If we were in a multi-story house, the likelihood of unintentional or deliberate encounters would be much lower.I often take my child on travel adventures here and there, mainly because it allows the whole family to spend time together. Especially within the confines of a car, everyone is compelled to be together, whether they like it or not. I recall a moment about 7 years ago when a friend of mine was preparing to immigrate to the U.S. The family expressed concerns about the differences in family bonds between the U.S. and Vietnam. I explained to them that family ties in the U.S. are much stronger, and one of the reasons is that parents and children often find themselves sitting together in a car.Returning to the main topic.I've watched more movies with my child, listened to more music together, answered their questions more frequently, shared more meals... I now have extra time to teach them important lessons: how to speak politely, clean up after eating, sit properly, walk correctly... and I've been able to ask them more questions because their English comprehension surpasses mine.Don't overlook this opportunity to bond with your loved ones. Strive for a healthy and positive lifestyle, keep working, and overcome challenges.
