1. The Dreamy Plum Blossom Season in Northwest Vietnam (January)

Earning praise for its pure white color, the plum blossom is hailed as the 'poetry of the Northwest mountains and forests'. Every January - when the weather is coldest - plum blossoms compete to bloom into clusters covering the entire Moc Chau and Son La mountains. From above, the plum blossom forest looks just like it's peacefully sleeping under a layer of soft white snow, incredibly serene and romantic. And when you 'zoom in', plum blossoms have round, petite petals, with a texture quite similar to some other spring flowers like cherry blossoms or apricot blossoms. Unfortunately, plum blossoms only bloom for about one to two weeks before Lunar New Year. So if you want to check-in with the most beautiful Northwest plum blossom season, you have to schedule your time wisely.
2. The Cherry Blossom Season in Northwest Vietnam (January - February)

If you missed the plum blossoms, #teamKlook shouldn't be too sad, because starting from mid-January to early February is when cherry blossoms are at their most vibrant in Moc Chau. The crisp white color of cherry blossoms can cover entire hillsides or wide valleys spanning hundreds of hectares, with a hint of dreaminess on sunny days. Cherry blossoms often form large clusters, with thin and sparse petals hugging pale yellow stamens. However, just a gust of wind is enough to blow the petals into the air, creating a scene full of poetic charm.
