Some Mytour readers have consistently reported issues with laptops overheating and draining battery. Upon investigation, the actual cause is attributed to the Firefox Quantum browser, specifically the Firefox Quantum 57 error faced by some users.
With the advertisement during the Firefox Quantum launch, we all knew it was a new version with significant changes and a formidable competitor capable of challenging Chrome. Currently, no specific cause has been verified for the Firefox Quantum 57 error causing RAM consumption, as stated by the Firefox Quantum publisher. According to an unofficial study, the Firefox Quantum 57 error is due to the Firefox Quantum RAM management process encountering issues when improperly releasing RAM in cases where tabs have been closed, leading to unallocated RAM. Additionally, to verify whether Firefox Quantum 57 is truly causing rapid battery drain on laptops, we used the SpeedFan software to measure the current temperature of the machine. At the present moment, the machine's temperature is around 80 degrees in the hottest area.
Due to the excessive heat, the laptop battery is affected, leading to the understandable occurrence of fast battery depletion.
How to Fix Firefox Quantum 57 Error
We have somewhat identified the issues that users are facing with the Firefox Quantum 57 error. So, how do we fix the Firefox Quantum 57 error? There are 2 solutions for users to address the Firefox Quantum 57 error.
1. Use an Older Version of Firefox.
While the older version may be slightly slower (negligible), it compensates by avoiding the Firefox Quantum 57 error.
