Microsoft also emphasizes that they encourage enterprise customers to leverage benefits provided by Microsoft and their partners, such as Microsoft FastTrack for cloud data migration and Software Assurance Planning Services for on-premises upgrades.
Customers are advised to upgrade before support ends
Microsoft recommends large organizations, administrators, and IT experts to upgrade to Office 365 ProPlus along with Office 365 enterprise plans or to Office 2019. Each product requires only one-time purchase and will be used for a single computer.
The company also provides detailed information to users at home on how to upgrade Office to either the non-subscription version or the subscription version of Office 365, as well as how to ensure their devices meet the requirements of the new Office version.
Administrators of small businesses and large organizations alike will receive detailed guidance on upgrading to Office 365 in 5 steps.
Microsoft also provides a seven-step process to deploy Office 365 ProPlus in large-scale enterprises, including information on selecting update channels, deployment, management, and identifying deployment groups and source files.
Jared Spataro, Corporate Vice President responsible for Microsoft 365, stated that Office 365 ProPlus is a product built to meet the demands of the modern era, and they will continually innovate across the entire system as well as the user experience.
Windows 10 Creators Update Service Discontinued
Last week, Microsoft also announced the end of service for Windows 10 version 1703, also known as Creators Update, with no future quality or security updates planned.
Starting from 8/10, customers using Windows 10 version 1703 Consumer, Enterprise, and Education are advised to upgrade to Windows 10 version 1903 to receive new updates. This will better protect users against newly discovered security issues and monthly bug fixes.
The Consumer version of Windows 10 version 1803 will also end service on 12/11; meanwhile, the Education and Enterprise versions will last until November 2020.
