Step 1: To begin, you need to log in to your Gmail account. If you don't have a Gmail account yet, you can sign up for Gmail with a few simple steps.

Step 3: To chat on Gmail and send messages on Gmail, click the mouse on the Hangouts icon as shown in the image.
Step 4: Here, choose the account to chat with. The Hangouts interface is user-friendly and minimalistic. You just need to observe for a few seconds to get familiar with it.
