When using Windows 10, you often switch between apps and utilize the App Switch feature, typically by pressing the Alt + Tab key combination. However, when switching between apps, the window interface behind becomes cluttered and unattractive. For this issue, users can edit the registry to make the switch interface more visually appealing and smoother.
Enhance the aesthetics of app switching interface on Windows 10
Step 1: Access Registry Editor by pressing the Start button > Regedit.exe.
Alternatively, you can also access Registry Editor by pressing the Windows + R key combination to open the Run dialog > type regedit.exe or regedit to access Registry Editor.
Accessing Registry Editor via the Run dialog.
Step 2: Navigate to the path or press the Ctrl + F key combination and enter the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
In the Explorer directory, create a new registry key named MultitaskingView and create another subkey named AltTabViewHost.
Step 3: Within the AltTabViewHost key, create a new value by right-clicking and selecting DWORD-32 Value. Remember to name this key Wallpaper and set the value to 1.
Step 4: You can also make the Alt + Tab switch interface transparent by creating a new DWORD-32 Value key named Grid_backgroundPercent.
Next, set the value for this key ranging from 0-100 depending on the desired level of transparency, where lower values towards 0 make the interface more transparent.
Step 5: Furthermore, you can even blur the background behind the App Switch interface by creating a new DWORD-32 Value and naming it BackgroundDimmingLayer_percent.
Afterward, you can adjust the value from 0-100 to create a certain level of blur for the background screen. Lower values result in greater blur.
Here is the guide to customize the app switch interface to be more visually appealing on Windows 10. The Windows 10 interface has undergone a complete transformation compared to previous versions such as Windows 7, appearing to be a complete blend of Windows 8 and 8.1. Even if you don't install Windows 10, users can still download the Windows 10 Transformation Pack to install the Windows 10 interface on their computers.
Wishing you every success!
