Many desire soft, plump lips, but resorting to expensive surgeries or injections isn't always ideal. Luckily, there's a natural alternative: cinnamon. It can be used to create homemade lip care products that moisturize, exfoliate, and plump your lips simultaneously!
Procedure
Using Ground Cinnamon for Lip Plumping
Prepare your lips. Ensure your face and hands are clean before starting. Remove any lipstick or lip gloss. Gently exfoliate your lips with a damp washcloth to remove dead skin cells.
Prepare your lips. Use Vaseline, Aquaphor, or your preferred lip balm to moisturize your lips. Apply a thin layer, ensuring full coverage while staying within the lip lines. This protects against over-exfoliation and adds moisture before applying the ground cinnamon.
Mix your blend. Combine half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon with a pea-sized amount of Vaseline until you have a paste. Apply this mixture to your lips using your finger or a soft-bristled toothbrush.
Apply the mixture. Coat your lips entirely with the cinnamon blend, then gently rub in small circular motions for 30-40 seconds. You'll feel a slight tingling sensation as the cinnamon stimulates your lips.
Let it settle. Leave the mixture on your lips for 3 to 5 minutes. Afterward, gently wipe it off with a damp washcloth. Your lips will appear rosy, fresh, and plump.
Moisturize your lips. After the treatment, apply lip balm to keep your lips hydrated. Moisturized lips look even more plump and lush!
Enhancing Lip Volume with Cinnamon Leaf Oil
Begin with a clean slate. Wash your face thoroughly and ensure your hands are clean. Remove any lipstick or lip gloss. Gently exfoliate your lips with a damp washcloth to eliminate dead skin cells.
Mix your potion. Combine one tablespoon of Vaseline with two drops of cinnamon leaf essential oil in a small container. Stir well with a toothpick. Note that cinnamon leaf oil is recommended over cinnamon bark oil for this recipe.
Apply the concoction. Massage the mixture onto your lips for 2 to 3 minutes, then leave it on. Expect a mild tingling sensation, indicating the cinnamon's effect on your lips. If you experience discomfort instead of tingling, reduce the oil to one drop.
Sport your natural gloss. As the mixture settles, your lips will gradually plump and acquire a subtle reddish hue, resembling a natural pout. Enjoy the effect for several hours, and reapply as desired for continued plumpness and shine.
