In December last year, Google provided users with the ability to share photos from Google Photos directly in chat. The search giant stated that the feature was designed to make photo sharing easier. Now, the company has announced that they are adding new controls to share albums from Photos.
Google Photos introduces enhanced album sharing capabilities
Download link and update the latest version of Google Photos:
When sharing albums, Photos will now offer the option to share albums with one or more individuals with Google accounts by default. The company states that this gives users control over who can access the album. The app will allow the owner of the album to decide who can add photos to the album and can also delete other contributors. Removing a user will remove all photos uploaded by that user.
Those interested in sharing albums via link creation will still be able to do so as the feature remains intact. As usual, users can share these album links even with those not using Google Photos or without Google accounts.
Although it's just a minor feature, it provides a convenient way to manage user album permissions and offers more control over image privacy. These features will be rolled out to users gradually throughout this week. Additionally, if you're unsure how to back up your photos to this tool, you can refer to the guide How to Back Up Photos to Google Photos here.
