Initiate Movie Playback to Trigger Parental Control Screen
Press the Select button to access the menu after pausing the movie. Open the menu as soon as you see the message 'Press [PLAY] to resume.'
Click on the Toolbox icon to enter the Setup menu. You'll find this icon located just above Pause and below the number 7 on the menu interface.
Use the Right button on your remote twice to navigate to the 'Custom Setup' section. This section allows for adjustments to parental controls.
Choose 'Parental Control' and input the newly created passcode. You'll need to confirm the new passcode before accessing this menu.
Opt for the 'Level' setting. This option enables changes to the parental control level.
Navigate to the top of the list and choose 'Off.' This action will permanently disable Parental Controls, eliminating future prompts when starting a movie.
Open the disc tray and take out your DVD. Press the Eject button and remove the DVD from the tray. On slim PS2s, the DVD might still spin briefly after the lid opens.
Close the tray and press the Reset button. This action will reboot the PS2, saving any changes made to parental control settings.
Reopen the PS2 and insert your DVD again. After the PS2 finishes rebooting and you return to the main menu, open the tray and insert the DVD.
Press the Reset button once your movie is inserted. The PS2 will reboot, and your movie will start playing automatically. No further parental control password prompts will occur.
