Over the past fifteen years, our handicraft industry has undergone a remarkable transformation, experiencing tremendous growth that has significantly enriched the lives of our people.
From humble beginnings as a small cooperative, Mỹ Nghệ Ninh Hòa has achieved remarkable success. By sourcing materials such as bamboo leaves, woven bamboo, banana leaves, and banana stems from the forest, the cooperative supplies large workshops domestically and internationally for the production of handmade crafts. This has led to the creation of exquisite items like woven hats, baskets, flower mats, and cushions, showcasing a growing mastery of artistic craftsmanship.
Many households have prospered thanks to the production of handicrafts. Residents throughout the district register to receive materials from the cooperative and work from home alongside their main occupations. Especially, electricity has reached the village; two-thirds of households own TVs, radios, and about half own motorcycles. My family even bought a Dream motorcycle two months ago. Every Saturday evening, my father takes my mother and me for a stroll around the village. I deeply love my hometown. The rural life I experience now is no less vibrant than what I see on TV in urban areas.
