Vietnamese citizens holding passports are eligible for visa-free entry to Thailand and can stay for up to 30 days when traveling by air. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Thailand.
When traveling to Thailand by land, the duration of stay will not exceed 15 days. However, if you intend to stay longer in Thailand, you will need a tourist visa issued by the Thai consulate abroad, allowing a stay of up to 2 months. Note that this type of visa must be used within 3 months from the date of issuance to be eligible for extension.
Vietnamese citizens need a passport to enter Thailand
In case of diplomatic passports or being an official, you need authorization from the relevant agency.
If you do not have a passport or it has expired, you need to apply for a new one to be eligible for travel to Thailand. To apply for a passport, you need to prepare the following necessary documents:

According to CCSA, travelers entering Thailand will no longer need a Thailand Pass or COVID-19 insurance. Upon arrival in Thailand, travelers only need to present a vaccination certificate or a negative COVID-19 test result.

If you've already booked a hotel room in Thailand, print out the information and present it upon entry to prove your arrival and departure dates. In the case of staying at a relative's house in Thailand, you'll need a sponsorship letter with a signature for confirmation and details of your accommodation address.
