A century has elapsed since the events depicted in Torchlight II, and the Ember Empire is now in decline. In Torchlight III, Novastraia finds itself once again under the threat of invasion, and it falls upon you to resist the Netherim and their allies to safeguard Novastraia. Weapons and gear play an integral role in aiding you to accomplish this objective. Therefore, it is imperative to thoroughly understand the methods of collecting and utilizing equipment to be adequately prepared for the impending battles.
How to Obtain Equipment in Torchlight III
Equipment can be acquired through various means such as defeating enemies, looting boss chests, trading with vendors in town, unlocking Contract rewards, and environmental destruction - all excellent methods to gather new weapons and armor.
Pro Tip: Some types of weapons only appear at the end of Challenge Dungeons, while others can only be found by the highest-level characters.

1. Rarity of Equipment
Weapons come in different rarities including Common (white), Magic (green), Rare (blue), and Legendary (orange). You can find weapons of all rarities at any level throughout the gameplay, but of course, Legendary is the rarest type of equipment in Torchlight III.
2. Items Exclusive to Specific Character Classes
Some equipment is only available for specific character classes. The Forged class is the only one that can equip Hatch, Chest Gun, and Locomotion. Sharpshooter can use Bows, Railmaster uses Railhammer, and Dusk Mage pairs with Digitus.
3. Weapon Affixes
Weapons can be equipped with various additional benefits called Affixes. These buffs enhance the capabilities and strength of the equipment, rolled randomly when the equipment drops. Legendary items have fixed buffs alongside random buffs, making them special and more powerful. Storyline Acts and Challenge Dungeons are also associated with specific types of damage and debuffs that enemies will use against you, so you should store different buff sets for different situations.
4. Storing Equipment
After unlocking your fortress, you can store equipment in it with multiple storage options called Wardrobes. These allow you to easily swap between equipment sets and showcase your assets to passersby.
5. Legendarium Skills
Upon discovering a Legendary item, you unlock its unique buff in the Legendarium skill menu. You can equip up to 3 of these buffs when fully leveled up. Additionally, all new characters come with 5 Legendarium skills for you to choose from.
6. Lifebound Scrolls
Lifebound Scrolls can be randomly found during your journey and have the ability to permanently increase the basic stats of equipment by 20%. However, Lifebound items will be lost if the character dies. Lifebound Scrolls cannot be used on Legendary items.
Speaking of pets, while there are plenty of Glittersprites existing on this planet, the Verdant Glittersprite pet is exclusive to Xbox gamers. Every new character you create can earn this rare pet.
Above are all the details about items in Torchlight III. Hopefully, this article will be helpful to you during your gaming experience.
