The increasing number of Chinese tourists visiting Nha Trang has led to various issues, prompting Khanh Hoa to establish a Chinese Guest Club to address these emerging problems.
Establishment of Chinese Guest Club in Khanh Hoa

On March 7th, Mr. Lam Anh Duy Cuong, Chairman of the Nha Trang Tourism Association (Khanh Hoa), announced that more than 20 businesses in the tourism sector had a meeting regarding the expected personnel, objectives, and operational principles of the Chinese Guest Club.
According to Mr. Cuong, the meeting briefly discussed some information and operational methods of the club but did not decide on any specific issues yet.
According to the Nha Trang Tourism Association, the establishment of the club aims to ensure smooth information flow about the tourism market, promote brands, attract and manage human resources in the field, thus fostering sustainable tourism market development.
According to the Tourism Supervision Delegation of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council, from 2010 to June 2016, Khanh Hoa welcomed 18 million tourists, including 4.2 million international visitors (mainly from China and Russia), generating tourism revenue of 26.5 trillion VND.
The province has 230 travel businesses, including 66 international travel agencies serving Chinese tourists and 164 domestic companies.

Also, according to Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council, in recent years, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Nha Trang has been increasing, leading to various issues such as price pressure, cultural behavior at tourist attractions, and a shortage of Vietnamese-speaking guides resulting in misunderstandings and misinterpretations of historical sites.
'Therefore, the establishment of Chinese Guest Clubs by travel businesses to address these issues is essential,' said Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of Nha Trang Tourism Association.
According to Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, in January 2017, nearly 163,000 international tourists visited Khanh Hoa, an increase of over 180% compared to the same period in 2016 (over 92,000 tourists). Among them, Chinese arrivals in January 2017 reached 102,000, up 374% compared to the same period in 2016 (over 27,400 tourists).
