Many are hopeful that this game will truly become a blockbuster upon its official release.
Despite not being officially released yet, Hogwarts Legacy has stirred up plenty of debates and differing opinions. Nevertheless, nothing can hinder this blockbuster from causing a frenzy on both major platforms, Steam and Twitch, where it's attracting millions of viewers and players despite not being officially launched.

Specifically, today on 10/2, Hogwarts Legacy has just been officially released. However, players who purchased the deluxe edition earlier gained early access 72 hours prior, starting from 7/2. Spending a considerable amount of money for additional rewards and early access isn't something everyone is willing to do. That might be a common sentiment among many, but the reality differs greatly.

According to SteamDB statistics, there were 488,000 players playing Hogwarts Legacy at the time before the game's official release. This number isn't displayed on the top 100 rankings on Steam simply because the game hasn't been released yet. If it were, it would rank third at the current moment, only behind two famous free-to-play games: PUBG and DOTA 2. Many believe that, once directly released, Hogwarts Legacy could easily create a new craze and surpass the aforementioned two titles. Furthermore, it could be a new Elden Ring in 2023 and a strong contender at The Game Awards nominations from this moment onwards.

Similar figures are also reflected on Twitch, the world's largest livestreaming platform. According to statistics, Hogwarts Legacy is the most-watched single game on Twitch upon its release, easily surpassing Elden Ring and trailing only behind Valorant and Lost Ark in history.

Perhaps now there's hardly any need to debate the level of success Hogwarts Legacy has achieved. Just the sheer number of pre-orders for this game has already made it one of the best-selling titles on Steam, currently sitting at the top spot in sales figures.
