What is the World Championship?
The League of Legends World Championship, also known as Worlds, is the pinnacle Esports tournament for LoL, where top teams from 9 regions compete for the prestigious title. Held annually at the end of the competitive season in a new hosting region, Worlds brings together qualified teams from professional tournaments worldwide. This year, South Korea is hosting the event.CKTG Qualifiers Roundwill be a BO5 match between Team BDS (4th seed of LEC) and Golden Guardians (4th seed of LCS) on October 9th at LoL Park, Seoul, South Korea. The winner of the Qualifiers Round will advance to the Worlds along with 21 other teams, including 8 teams starting from the Play-In Stage. Seed allocations are determined based on each region's previous international performance.

When will Worlds 2023 take place?

What is the tournament format?
The new format of Worlds will feature 22 teams, divided into 3 stages of competition: Play-In Stage, Group Stage, and Knockout Stage (Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Finals). Detailed information about each stage is provided below.Where will Worlds 2023 take place?
Play-In Stage will take place from October 10th to October 15th at LoL Park, Seoul, South Korea.Group Stage will be held on October 19th to October 23rd and October 26th to October 29th at KBS Sports Stadium, Seoul, South Korea.The Knockout Stage includes Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals.- The Quarterfinals will take place from November 2nd to November 5th and the Semifinals will take place on November 11th and 12th, both at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium in Busan, South Korea.
- The Grand Finals will be held on November 19th at Gocheok Sky Dome Stadium, Seoul, the largest indoor arena in South Korea and the home stadium of the Korean baseball team: Kiwoom Heroes.

Seed allocations for a region are determined based on international and regional performance. Strong regions will send some or all of their seeded teams directly to the Group Stage, while others may have fewer seeds and/or start in the Play-In Stage.
