The photo library now allows you to selectively add, remove, or hide unnecessary albums for a neater overall look. Additionally, the redesigned story feature offers high interaction in slideshows by swiping left or right.
Enhanced Default Editing Process
The photo editing tool now includes additional features like drawing circles, squares, and hearts with a pen or freehand, with instant adjustments as you hold after drawing. It supports editing and cropping while maintaining the photo in portrait mode.
Samsung also adds 60 interesting stickers and allows the use of the lasso tool to create additional stickers from photos, enhancing the vibrancy of images. GIFs can be cropped or transformed with suitable sizes and shapes.
Stickers and AR Emoji Emoticons
Samsung introduces 15 default stickers and the ability to download more in the AR Emoji Sticker app when creating AR Emojis for deeper expressions. Additionally, you can create backgrounds for AR stickers from any image and combine two emoticons to create fun dance moves.
New Keyboard and Emoji Icons
OneUI 5.0 brings forth 88 new emoji icons and 10 fresh animations that can be paired for more authentic emotional expression. Alongside, Kaomoji is now added for swift sharing directly in your chats, making conversations much more vivid.
Samsung also allows you to rearrange the order of emoji and function keys below the space bar for a more convenient user experience.
Text Extraction and OCR
You can extract any text directly on the Samsung keyboard, whether it's from the internet, photo library, screenshots, etc., for quick editing and usage. When extracting text from the photo library or screenshots, Samsung provides suggestions, such as making a call or accessing a website quickly if the content allows.
Samsung DeX
Samsung Dex is enhanced with a more flexible taskbar customization. You can change positions and add/remove function keys below. Additionally, a search key is added for easier app discovery.
When opening the calendar on the taskbar, a small calendar appears on the screen to help you track schedules more conveniently compared to opening the full app screen. Notifications are also enhanced, displaying a small red dot only when there are new notifications (since the last time you opened the notification bar).
Additional Features for Notification Bar
The notification bar in OneUI 5.0 is redesigned to be larger, making it easier for you to read notifications. Additionally, apps will now need your permission to send notifications when used for the first time.
Moreover, if an app sends too many notifications, you can quickly block or limit them. New notifications are now grouped into different categories for easy management.
Settings with Multiple Useful Features
In the settings, you can now add exceptions for contacts allowed to disturb mode. You will still receive message and call notifications as usual. The device care app is improved with automation capabilities, helping you automatically clear running background apps, auto-restart the device, and quickly disable RAM Plus feature.
OneUI 5.0 also enhances audio and vibration settings by consolidating options into one section, including ringtone settings, volume adjustments, and vibration modes. Additionally, you can easily customize different languages used for each application.
Security and Privacy
When you share information such as credit cards, ID cards, or passports, you will receive a warning about sharing personal information, giving you the option to reconsider sharing. Moreover, in the settings, there is a new security dashboard to quickly check and address issues.
Additionally, in the Samsung Internet app, there is an icon on the address bar to easily check the website's security and learn about the information it is collecting and tracking.
Accessibility
Accessibility in OneUI 5.0 brings features such as high-contrast fonts, color inversion, color adjustment, and color filters to the quick settings panel for easy adjustments. Samsung also allows the Bixby virtual assistant to support voice interactions for on-screen content if you have difficulty seeing.
If you use a mouse or touchpad, you can move the cursor to each corner of the screen to quickly open apps. Additionally, accessibility features include a magnifying glass function that uses the phone's camera to zoom in on small and hard-to-see objects. Finally, on-screen assistive touch buttons can swiftly change features by pressing and holding.
Calendar
When you add an event to the Google Calendar through the Samsung Calendar app, you can manage those you invite and see if they invite others. Besides, you can add meeting links or video call links, and the invited person will receive a notification with the attached link. Moreover, you can also add labels to highlight important events when adding to the Google Calendar through the Samsung Calendar app.
Reminders
Reminders will help you better manage daily tasks with the today's agenda feature, and you can quickly view it at the top of the main screen in the reminder app. Completed tasks will be hidden to help you focus on the unfinished ones. Also, you can choose between detailed or simple view modes for reminders.

Swiftly move bookmarked pages from one folder to another for easier and more convenient management.
My Files
Easily search for files within folders, file names, information within files like text in documents, or location information in photos. Search results will be sorted by name, date, size, or file type.
Clock
OneUI 5.0 allows you to set up to 20 timers simultaneously in the clock app.
