This article provides detailed guidance on how to perform block operations in Excel.
Common operations frequently used in spreadsheets when working with blocks:
1. Selecting a Block of Multiple Adjacent Cells.
Hover the mouse pointer over the first cell of the block -> hold down the left mouse button and drag to the data area of the block -> the selected block is highlighted:

2. Select block of discrete cells.
- To select a block of discrete cells, do as follows: Place the mouse pointer over the first cell of the block -> press and hold the Ctrl key -> move to another cell within the block, with multiple cells perform similar actions until the data area of the block ends -> the result (the cells highlighted are the cells within the selected block):

3. Select 1 or more columns.
- To select an entire column -> move the mouse pointer over the column header until the mouse pointer changes to a downward arrow, then hold down the left mouse button and drag to the adjacent column to form a block -> result:

- To select individual columns, do as follows: Select the first column (by moving the column header when the cursor appears as a downward arrow) -> hold down the Ctrl key -> move to the header of the column to add to the block until the downward arrow appears and the column is highlighted, if multiple columns perform similar actions, result:

4. Select 1 or more rows.
- Similarly to selecting columns, if selecting multiple contiguous rows, you only need to move the ordinal number of the first row in the block hold down the left mouse button and move to the ordinal number of the contiguous rows -> result:

- Select a block of non-adjacent rows: Click on the ordinal number of the first row in the block -> hold down the Ctrl key -> move to the rows to form the block and select them similar to selecting the first row -> result:

5. Select the entire spreadsheet.
- Click on the intersection of rows and columns -> the entire spreadsheet is highlighted:
