1. The TIME Function Explained.
Syntax: TIME(hour, minute, second).
Where:
- TIME: function name.
- Hour: hour value.
- Minute: minute value.
- Second: second value.
Hour, minute, second are integers ranging from 0 to 32767 and are all mandatory parameters.
Function: The function returns a decimal number of a specific time value ranging from 0 to less than 1. If the cell format is General before entering the function, the returned value will be displayed in hour-minute-second format.
2. The TIMEVALUE Function.
Syntax: TIMEVALUE(time_text).
Where:
- Time_text: is a text string representing the time value and is a mandatory parameter.
Function: The function returns a decimal number of a specific time value ranging from 0 to less than 1 represented by Time_text.
3. The NOW Function.
Syntax: NOW().
Function: The NOW() function returns the current date, time, and system clock (cell format before entering the function is General).
If you input the syntax NOW()-1, the function will return the date and time decreased by one day compared to the current date and time of the system.
4. The HOUR Function.
Syntax: HOUR(serial_number).
Where:
- Serial_number: represents the time you want to convert into hours, it is a mandatory parameter.
Function: Returns the hour portion of a time value, the result returned is an integer from 0 to 23.
5. The MINUTE Function.
Syntax: MINUTE(serial_number).
Where:
- Serial_number: represents the time you want to convert into minutes, it is a mandatory parameter.
Function: Returns the minute portion of a time value, the result returned is an integer from 0 to 59.
6. The SECOND Function.
Syntax: SECOND(serial_number).
Where:
- Serial_number: represents the time you want to convert into seconds, it is a mandatory parameter.
Function: Returns the second portion of a time value, the result returned is an integer from 0 to 59.
